The great thing is that you walk into any blues bar in any town and very often experience the same thing. No one in this video did anything extremely virtuosic, they all just let that style of music play them. That why it’s so much fun for them and the audience.

If you understand enough both jazz and blues, you know it takes quite some humility and courage for Eric to go and play with those pros at the high level and top form they are, and humility and generosity of them to create that musical landscape of that jazzy-blues well suited for Eric to be able to perform in, and without ever attempting to overshadow or intimidate him with their facility within that landscape. For these reasons, and of course the beautiful music itself, I find this quite moving to watch.

Brilliant, I am lucky enough to have heard Wynton and Taj Mahal play a couple of times. I live near a small village in France called Marciac and for 2 weeks every year we have a jazz/blues festival. One night after the main concert we went to our normal bar we love where the youngsters from our local music college play. Who should walk in but Wynton greeting the owners big hugs, he then started jamming with the kids they all played out of their skins and it is an atmosphere I will remember forever. Such a wonderful person who plays for the love of it and inspires others. Thank you so much.

If you think back to the days of the super rock bands what did they all have in common it was also a new marketing strategy by the big promoters , the business men , all of a sudden it went unplugged and the top guitarists such as Clapton, Gary Moore ect reverted to the roots and the roots were blues, it's like music went around in a circle but came back to the grandaddy of all popular music "The Blues" n they all cashed in on it

Brilliant - Eric really ought to record and participate in more sessions like this. Lovely to see EC enjoying himself so much as well as enjoying the playing of others in the band. And as for blues/jazz banjo ... amazing. One of the best examples of everyone taking their own solos in turn that I've ever seen - all to the point, on the beat, inventive and not over the top. Superb. Wonderful - made even more interesting by Winton's comments and narration at the end. Thanks for the upload, it's made my day.
