You could use something like a random value, which well sometimes you have good reason to use in a deterministic Mock [ at 27:17 ] -- this was quite nice :)

Fake objects != Dummy objects, there are subtle differences, see here: Dummy Objects: Purpose: Dummy objects are passed around but never actually used. They are typically used to fill parameter lists. Example: If a method requires an object as a parameter, you might pass a dummy object without caring about its actual content. Fake Objects: Purpose: Fake objects have working implementations, but they are simplified for testing purposes. They usually take shortcuts to make the tests run faster. Example: Using an in-memory database as a fake for a real database in unit tests.
