How does this machine perform on a 4in cut? Do you have to back the trucks up behind you? I have a Roadtech RX700 currently, but its no good for ditch line repairs, so i was looking at a small machine.

It is ok, depends on where it’s being used, we did some shoulder widening where I was on hard packed gravel and it was good but on semi loose soil it’s a real pain, trucks are backing up with me and that works good, 400 lbs per sq in on these tires compared to 25 lbs per sq in on the w1000F tracked machine. And I was going 3-4” deep

@Heavyroadequipment I was outbid on a W1200 track machine Thursday, I have a feeling that would be a better way to go. I've been doing paving for a long time now, but milling is a new world. My Roadtech eats the road so fast, I need a small machine that will also be productive. I can't be out there with 9 guys on a prevailing rate job having the machine getting stuck and slipping around. I'd freak out.

That’s a bummer, yeah, I really liked running the W 1200 F, it’s a real good machine as well. I had a meltdown doing a grind out with the wheeled machine for a city job, and it was peeling out, trying to back up the hill for the next pass, that was the last time, I used a wheeled machine, never again. Practically all of what we do is grind out and/or prelevel for chipseal activity.

@Heavyroadequipment So I just bought a W1200 F. If you make anymore videos of on that would be sweet. It should be nice having a small mill too.

Awesome, yeah, we are just about done using the W 1200 F for preseason chipseal work. I’ve been too busy to make any more videos but I’ll try and remember to do a little bit tomorrow.
