I would really like to hear, off-camera how much talking and directing Stan was saying throughout this movie. And I know Stan was fascinated by Ted Healy.

Thanks for sharing this -- I guess it's not available on DVD anyplace...too bad. I really enjoyed it !! I cracked up when the parrot showed up -- completely unexpected ;)

I ran across some fan letters Stan wrote online around the time Shemp died and found it a bit strange that even that late in the game, he referred to The Three Stooges as “Ted Healy’s boys.” As if by then they haven’t made their mark without him. Now knowing Stan actually directed Ted - maybe I understand a little more where that line of thinking comes from.

Hard to believe now, but until the Stooges started making 2 reelers at Columbia in 1934, Healy was the bigger name. In fact, the FIRST time they branched out on their own without Healy in 1930 (Larry, Moe and Shemp), they were only moderately successful. They only returned to the act (1932) because Moe, being the savvy businessman, knew that Healy's name could get them bigger opportunities.

It's funny reading the title cards in their voices. I wonder if this was an easter egg in the old "Lost Films of Laurel and Hardy" series from the '90's.

The only Easter Egg I recall in that DVD series is the second reel of Charley Chase's "The way of all pants", It is on DVD # 6

Ironic that Ted Healy played someone who invented some special plaster, given that in real life he was often plastered.
