1971 I was blowing free in England. Wishbone Ash on the BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test opened up with a drum roll, a thundering bass and a killer hook. The song 'Vas Dis' transitioned into 'Jailbait', an electrifying set from virtual unknowns who had nothing to lose and a lot to say. That night at 17 I became a guitar player. 52 years later and now 69 I still play everyday and dream, perhaps not as blowing free as I was then, but if I had to do it all again, I would'nt do it any other way. 'Time was' indeed. And a magical time it was, I treasure the memories !

if its not live , They sure did an Amazing job making it look like it was live ! Why are you people saying it wasn't live , because I saw them live in 1972 and they were this good live . They were incredible live . did some blues too.

Beautifully tight band and a great sound. I saw them at Reading in 1971 and they were the highlight. Interesting to note that there’s a Strat, a Flying V and a Rickenbacker. To each his own. Excellent drumming too - very musical, not just keeping time. First class. It really sounds as good today as it did then, and not everything does.

Andy Powell's. Flying V is not plugged in. No amps in sight. Sounds identical to the original album recording. Miming.

...said the blind man! Lead is in the jack, and just because you can't see an amp doesn't mean there aren't any. Not that they are needed . Ever heard of DI?

True, artists didn't play "live" on the OGWT, pretty sure only the vocals were live. The music was prerecorded in a studio.
