So what's your general strategy with monster deck? I really wanna use it primarily, but I just keep going back to Northern for results
@persinders

Make a threat on round 1 force opponent to concede. Burn opponents value on round 2, with decoys and hero power. Finish opponent off with big threats on round 3, try to bait their scorches first.
@sebluthy2300

@@persinders the ai is aware enough to concede round 1 based on your power? Also, why not just go all out in round 2 after winning 1?
@persinders
3 жыл бұрын
@@sebluthy2300 The ai is dumb, they concede fast whenever I drop vampires on round 1. Round 2 is supposed to be for value siphoning. The monster deck won't outvalue spies. If you go all out, you'll usually end up losing.
@sebluthy2300

@@persinders so round two is baiting them essentially? If so, how do you know where to stop so that you have enough to take round 3?
@persinders
3 жыл бұрын
@@sebluthy2300 That's just based off experience, so that's where your skill comes in. If it looks like they overcommited then you concede, but sometimes you can straight up win if they are looking weak.

Love just watching this in the background, thank you so much for this. Only thing - absolute amateur move @1:45:48 with the scorch card, happens to the best of us!!
@persinders
3 жыл бұрын
Haha I get what you mean, but it was all part of the plan. I made the calculation that the scorch was more expendable than the minions I had in hand. Round 2 is nothing, but a decoy round to bait my opponent. It made no impact if my scorch killed his crones or not, I intended to yield that round ahead of time. Just explaining myself, so people understand I didn't just win 10 in a row on the hardest Gwent tournament for no reason.

Did you have vesemir and the fiend there on purpose? If so why didn't you use the arachas muster, or were they just temporary?
@persinders
3 жыл бұрын
Vesemir and fiend were on there on purpose. They are there for scorch protection on my vampires. The arachas muster will lower my win average cause if I have too many musters it can thin out my hand and deck. The main challenge is the spy decks. I try to get my 2 musters out as soon as possible and when I do I can reliably know my draws with spy draws aren't going to be thinned by musters.
@Alt0001

@@persinders That is smart, I always thought arachas were the better choice, but I might have to test your strategy out. Although it'll take awhile as i just started a brand new death march playthrough (wish me luck!).

Monsters is the worst deck IMO but you seem to do swell. I'm more Northern Realms and Nilfgaardian Empire. Edit: Monsters is actually very fun.
