If you ever want to pick up a SK novel, a lot of people recommend reading Misery. I personally would suggest Salem's Lot (as it is vampires), but if you want to challenge yourself. Read The Tommyknockers, though not considered his best work, it is a good dabble into Sci-Fi. I have read most of his works and this was the one that really did freak me out.

Thanks for an entertaining video again, G! I see in the comments that you've swapped the Stephen King prompt, so this comment might no longer be relevant to you, but there's some good stuff amongst Stephen King's extensive (and also very uneven) bibliography. Since you like sci-fi, The Dead Zone and 11/22/63 would be recommendations that I think would fit your tastes. I'd also recommend The Shining, Misery and Carrie - they're all well worth a read (or a watch if you can be tempted to look into any movie adaptations). Happy reading!

There is no such thing as a good Stephen King book that is short :) I would recommend Pet Semetary since the season for it is now. Misery is a good one too if you want a horror book. Since they were written long ago they are not as "horror-y" as books nowdays. And his books are easy to read and get into so the size doesn't matter really. (I read It in 2-3 days)

As someone who reads a lot of Stephen King, a King book that would be a great for a fantasy reader would be Elevation its a short novella about a guy who keeps losing weight and starts to float,it has social commentary elements and a supernatural twist (of course it is a King book).

If you do decide tonread Stephen King then start with Carrie which is his first novel. Others that might be interesting are Salem's Lot if you like vampires, Cell (might be a chunky monkey) which is a dystopian and how cell phones can kind of turn you brainless, and this is before smart phones, so may be a bit dated, still fun to read. He has a classic book of short stories like Night Shift where some of his movies came from like Children of the Corn or Maximum Overdrive...lol...my mom is a horror fan so horror books and horror movies, a lot of Stephen King's novels or short stories became movies. If you want Fantasy he has two, The Eyes of the Dragon and the latest one that came out Fairy Tale. If you want something really short thenay I suggest his graphic novel/comic called Creepshow. I will say the last story in there is a bit disgusting due to a certain bug, not spiders.
