The lower course of the Roer River in Germany has significantly improved over the past few years, becoming much more attractive for kayaking, canoeing, packrafting, or stand-up paddleboarding. Where numerous weirs used to require portaging, most of them have been converted into flow thresholds. This not only benefits water quality but also enhances the overall dynamics of the river. Today, we are navigating 6 flow thresholds with a water level of 105 cm near Linnich, covering a distance of about 20 km to our endpoint in Orsbeck.
In this video, I've utilized my self-composed and performed soundtracks for the first time because I'm completely fed up with using so-called paid "copyright-free music," only to later discover that there are still "copyright restrictions." Creatively, it's a new challenge, but an enjoyable one!
