I am often amazed at how much life is in and around the boat ramps! Our ramps don't have rip rap for prop wash (which they really need!) but there are channels dredged out to accommodate the boat traffic. Those bass love to set up along the edge of the channels. To them, it's another type of deep water access.

Thinking outside of the box when it comes to transitions. I was trying to do the same the other day by doing something different. The lake I was fishing did not have docks just tie up poles with pontoons. Cover is cover and shade is shade. I fished the sides of the pontoons that was close together. Managed to catch a nice one. Just like the ramps being overlooked many areas go unnoticed also. Thanks for this lesson. Really enjoy it

You can find and catch lots of kinds of saltwater fish around boat ramps too. Snook, tarpon, cudas, sharks, catfish and others are attracted to ramps and especially if there's a fish cleaning table. They're tough to fish around when people are launching boats but at night you can catch fish around ramps. I watched a friend walk right off the dock one night, not paying attention to where he was walking. I looked down and his hat was floating but Chris was gone for a couple seconds 😂. We didn't catch any fish but I think he caught a good buzz that night 😜.

I forgot about the fish cleaning stations. That would definitely attract a lot of attention. Being from the midwest I haven’t done a lot of saltwater fishing. I know I’m missing out.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors oh yeah you absolutely should do more saltwater fishin'. You never know what you'll catch, the fish fight harder, they're more aggressive, and to me they taste better. Plus lakes are cool but nothing like a nice beach or going out in a boat in the saltwater. There are places in Florida where you can catch saltwater and freshwater fish together, you would probably really enjoy South Florida. The possibilities are endless there for different species and habitat. So go down there and get hooked on the saltwater and brackish game, it's incredible.

The very first check I ever cashed was on that lake many years ago. And you are so right - there is rock everywhere. If I remember correctly, the best fish I caught there came off a log. Something a little different. I just love those Ozark lakes. Really enjoy fishing Norfork too. Caught some giant stripers there.
@Tbowie13

@@SteveRogersOutdoors Yes Sir, wood is a precious commodity in Bull. Look around the lake, all the points have stumps where guys chain-sawed the trees and drug em out at night. Let the water get high and you'll hear the saws at night. Get on those fresh trees while they still have alot of oxygen and it's ON! I like Norfork as well for Striper and Walleye.
