The refinement and grace of Merwin's presence, consciousness, language, and sensibility are so uplifting. How I miss him and the few people like him!

Cameron and Carpenter blend beautiful sights and sounds with William's poetry and incredible insights;" One of the things that Thoreau is saying, at least this is what he is saying to me, is that in wildness, in our acceptance and our embrace, and joy in what we do not control, and will never control, is our salvation. As long as we feel we can control things, as long as we really have that terrible delusion, we’re going to feel that our relationship to the rest of life is that of conquest and acquisition. And this is not only killing the rest of life, it is killing us. Not as a consequence but as the same act." ~W.S. Merwin

I enjoyed this! I will probably listen again! But at the end of the video, I need to comment on the question - what is hope? As Christians (or like me - Wannabee Christians), we know that there is hope of a spiritual life in eternity!

I'm a Poet and he Refused to Blurb my Book, despite being the first to sweep all 3 poetry Awards @ my University. Not a generous man.

He doesn’t owe you anything, including his generosity. I seriously doubt he has the time to read every single wannabe poet’s book and write a blurb for it. Your university awards are trivial. I’d bet anything the competition was not among a large number of people, were all students, and not very good. Stop flattering yourself at his expense and get over it, and yourself.
