I don't know why I keep bringing myself back to watching these videos. I miss the pre Katrina coast, but I also love the coast as it is now. I am thankful for the images to keep. My memory alive.

Me too...its been almost 18 years and I still come back to it this time every year. I was 18 fresh out of high school and I still tonthis day can't wrap my head around all that happened. I probably never will. One things for sure I'll never stay for another hurricane that's a cat 3 or higher

I'm in Florida now but was and still a blood built Mississippian. I miss the Gulf Coast ever so much. Everyone knows everyone there. It was my favorite place to be no matter the circumstances. Go MS! I hope to return again soon!

Thanks for sharing your amazing work..I can't believe it's been just about 10 years now since I saw our beloved Biloxi at her absolute worst. This is so brilliant & moving! It brings me to tears of both sadness & joy....just like it always does when I get to come home to Biloxi.

It is March 14th, 2021 & we are all living in COVID 19 horrendous , sad times & a Pandemic Era. And then I am watching Videos & Documentaries on Hurricane Katrina & my heart still breaks from this horrendous Hurricane too. So, sad . I lived in Texas & was a Special Ed Teacher & a Mom of 3 kids when this horrendous Hurricane hit. We did what we could for Our New Orleans ,& People from Mississippi too. I cried when this Hurricane Katrina hit you all. I was devastated. And still am to this day. I visited New Orleans 3 months after the Hurricane close to Christmas Day..I was crying then & sick to my stomach & had a severe migraine . It was cold all around of death. I could feel the souls who lost their lives their & animals & pets too. My prayers & thoughts are still with all of yous still to this day. It surely isn't easy at all. This I know.

Not to be a pessimist, but the Hurricane Camille Memorial badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina unfortunately shows that bravely rebuilding everything here just puts it in the way of yet again another major hurricane at some future time.

I can't get over the irony of Camille's memorial being only two blocks from Katrina's. How do Biloxi live through it?

Hurricane Katrina literally made a big mess. Even though it is different now... I am still looking forward to visiting Mississippi again some day.

❤ Cajun greetings from coastal Mississippi. Oh my beloved Gulfport Ms. I survived Camille and Katrina. My heart was shattered after Katrina, yet we have moved forward with a beautiful coast once again. Y'all are well come any time.🎉

really liked your video . beautiful city. what does WLOX stand for ? it's awful what Katrina did to the city. does the city get hurricanes often or even high winds? Also is it a good place for retirees & also is it pretty reasonable to live there ?

Biloxi because that’s where the studio is. Been hit by two of worst storms in terms of storm surge. 17 August 1969 (Camille) and 29 August 2005 (Katrina). I personally have no interest living in Mississippi. But I do want to visit the place. As I type this, it has been 15 years to the date. Laura and Marco were busts thankfully.

I've lived here for 42 years. I am amazed at how well we recovered; the damage was just ridiculous. It's bittersweet seeing the places that "ain't dere no more".
