Great video, I’ve always been a tamiya owner since a kid with my first car the Tamiya Hornet , seriously upgraded motor and battery and esc , rocking 45mph not bad for two wheel drive and for an older beast

I got one for Christmas and it seems great, I'll double check if it's the upgraded version or not. The only "issie" I've noticed is there seems to be a delay when braking/reversing to then going forward again.

After 20 november 2021,Wl delievers the 124017 V2. 4300KV motor. 19 tooth motor gear,no more cogging. Better range transmitter. I have one and it is after greasing the diffs fantastic for that price. 135€ + 1 extra 3600 Mha battery on black friday. If you order be sure you get the V2.

Why does everyone think that the controller is good? It literally only has one speed, you cannot go slower by pulling the trigger less, it's FULL SPEED as soon as you pull the trigger (well the full speed you have it set to)
@TheTechnologyMan

It's not bad - not much different to what I got with a Traxxas Maxx that costs over 5 times the price - all the included controllers I've got do feel a bit cheap.

Can I just ask why you didn't use a 19 tooth pinion gear like the version 2? Also I have the v2 and it's brilliant, no cogging or range issues and got 44 mph on dry tarmac with the stock 2s battery . Never had the v1 but I'm told the v2 is MUCH BETTER as you don't need to adjust the gearing,the 19t with the newer 4300 kv motor has plenty of torque and a slightly higher top speed than v1. Especially as you lose a lot of speed by changing the gearing ,yes you solve the cogging and get much better excelleration by changing it but you lose top speed. I recommend the version 2 to anyone wanting to get into rc but I'd definitely stay away from version 1,to many problems which when fixed cause new issues ,like lose of speed,which means you have to spend more cash on a 3s just to get the speed you should be getting out the box
@TheTechnologyMan

Glad you got hold of the V2 model! I prefer having the extra torque of the 15 tooth - since I drive it mainly on moorland in longer grass.

Hi! It's hard to know exactly without trying it and check cogging, temps etc. You definitely need a smaller pinion with the 27 tooth model at least. If you try it less us know how you get on!
