Trump's chosen plan for our Capitalist system is your basic conservative Trickle Down Economics on steroids. (in Europe TD economics is called Austerity) The New Yorker called it his budget 'Robin Hood In Reserve' (i recommend the article) Economists predict if Trump follows the same "agenda" into a 2nd term, we'll hit a recession. However, its no surprise this charismatic scumbag Jordan Belfort would like it, he's all for the rich getting richer, and everyone else batting it out (for the scraps)

@calo10able Ever heard about the 2008 financial crisis?
@AK-jm1sc
4 жыл бұрын
@calo10able The 2008 financial crisis was due to financial abuse and false mortgages and loans being sold that had no real merit to them, the over accumulation of such false loans eventually created a bubble that burst the economy. Guys like Jordan were the ones benefiting from setting up the conditions that led to millions of people going bankrupt, losing their jobs, losing health insurance, and eventual deaths and suicides. The thing is, there are consequences when you recklessly gamble with other people's money and loans. When you lie about the value of financial instruments, and it happens on a massive scale, that's how you end up with economic bubbles that are bound to burst. By the way, don't be fooled by the economy now. There is another financial crisis on the horizon as we are seeing more bubble-like behavior accumulating again in different industries, I believe the stock market is bloated and overvalued. It will likely take a couple of more years before it escalates to another crisis, but I might be wrong, it could happen next month or next week too. This is based on both my analysis and the analysis of other economists and people that research financial markets, I have a degree in finance myself, graduated half a year ago.

More laws and control are clearly needed if greedy men are able to do so much harm.

He didn't argue for less regulation, he just said that what usually gets passed due to moneyed interests are watered down bills that are not the solutions. And they just keep piling up, introducing all kinds of smothering overheads. Basically, he's advocating for the removal of money from politics, then looking through all the regulations, culling what's senseless while cracking down on what's lax and allows people like former himself to run amuck. Thus striking an optimal balance for progress.

It’s interesting, Jordan thinks regulating wall street is 100% necessary to avoid terrible outcomes, but he is still in favor of deregulation overall. His insight has given him knowledge that compels him to favor putting crucial regulation on the financial sector. That makes me wonder if Jordan would be more left leaning should he just be similarly knowledgeable about, for example, the health sector. (Not sure what his views on m4all is but anyway) Here, an expert on the financial system thinks the current state of affairs is ridiculous. I don’t have any real data on this but I’m pretty sure experts in the medical field think the current health system is ridiculous. I bet you could find similar occurences among high-ranking military officials. What I’m getting at is that an expert solely is an expert on their own narrow field and not necessarily on anything else, which is important to remember. ”Islands” of experts could agree that the current state of affairs in the U.S is ridiculous in respect to their own fields and at the same time not endorse drastically changing anything. I feel like I’ve heard many statements from people that go something like ”yeah Trump is horrible on x but I still support his general approach” when x is a subject the person have special knowledge in. ”Yeah it sucks that the river that runs by my house is toxic and devoid of life due to pollution from the chemical plant situated upstream, but I still support Trump and his policies”. My main point is that if people’s attention could be brought to the fact that this sh*t is rampant throughout America and not just in their own lifes/fields, they would most likely stand up and demand a change. Bernie Sanders has expressed something along these lines aswell and that informs how his campaign is structured. I think he’s really on to something there. (English is my second language and I was kind of rambling but I hope this made sense)

I have the feeling things are going badly in the coming years,decade,and with trying to tell some positive notes he's trying to let people believe that spending will help (him)..Of course things go bad,in a lot of ways.Like,how on earth is it possible that new businesses like Uber, Airbnb and a few more of those, can be on a stock-market,going up with their stocks and loosing a billion and more a year..Every year..Take a Uber..If you take a regular cab,and your cost, to go from A to B, would normally be 80 dollars.(And this driver will earn just a normal salary with that number).A Uber will do the same thing for 25 dollars..How can they do such? Well,they have very rich investors,who in fact are subsidizing Uber,almost like a communist state would do,and their real aim is to destroy all normal cab businesses ,so they can take over the market and ask much higher prices to earn back what they lost today..Same counts for takeaways..(food) like Deliveroo, Every owner will go by a app,seeing what someone wants,deliver it and pay 7 to 10% to the owners of this app.Others can't compete and those rich investors will take over the full market.Mind you,worldwide.Taking over that market is already working and now asking 20% of each delivery..In the end-game, only a few new businesses like that will survive and let you,customers, pay more then when there was a honest competition going on.Those higher prices, you will see them on your bill,don't doubt that...You think you are smart to go cheap,but you will pay much more in the long run.You will end up with a Amazon,AliBaba, controlling everything on platforms,Uber,Facebook,Google,Airbnb,Deliveroo, and a few more ,and all have Billionaires to push newly starters,even older ones, out of the market,or just buy them when getting successful,.They will control the world and getting richer and richer.And we,the people,are falling for it.Who is regulating what? It seems the so called capitalist Billionaires are embracing the communist way to enrich themselves as never seen before..It's a real danger.Even Billionaires will eat the other..Till there will be only a few left,they will see Trillions on their accounts.How to stop this? All is easy.Don't let it happen..that's it,really.The power of the people can stop this too happen.But are you willing to pay a few dollars more ,to save yourself on the long run..Probably not..You will complain afterwards..But to who?
