You gotta remember that the police have a person figurativly and literally cornered - and a cornered animal can be unpredictable and dangerous. My cousin started when she was very young she saw her mom do it and she followed behind her. Her sister looked up to her and since she was doing it and so was her mom she followed as well. The youngest one sold (yes I mean sold) her son to the father and the dad did the right thing and went to authorities, not sure if she got jail time for that. The youngest stopped the “hard” drugs and smoked pot but also started drinking bad. My aunt their mom died 6 years ago of a massive heart attack from years and years of drugs. The youngest one died 3 years ago from complete organ failure due to years of drugs and drinking (all her organs shut down at once). The last time I saw her she was yellow from head to toe and swollen bad. My oldest cousin got into a very bad car accident that almost took her life and we were hoping that would show her but nope she died of internal bleeding (I’m sure from years of drug abuse but not sure exactly what killed her) she had three kids. She died alone in a hotel room. Wished we could have helped more but like they say the first step for recovery is to admit you have a problem and they never would. With my last cousin her son who was 10 at the time was stripped from his moms side of the family who helped raised him and put him in his dads care and while I don’t agree about how they did but it I am glad he is where he is and away from all the bs from that side of our family. I need to add that it want his dads fault he didn’t see him my cousin was bitter and mad so she withheld him from seeing his dad. Congratulations on 14 years

My husband had a total meltdown, Karen, at his Dr appt, screaming, threatening the Dr and nurse that if they didn't figure out why he never had enough pills. And he tested negative for the morphine he'd been taking for years. So he tied up the whole Dr office with his ranting and raving for 5 hours(NOT A TYPO). His Dr cut him off cold turkey, he had a heart attack a week after he ran out of pills. I also got kicked out of the practice, I assume because they figured I would behave that way too. Dr had me addicted to both hydrocodone and Xanax. I was cut off cold turkey. It was awful ,but I made it. I could've got some off the street but due to fentanyl, I was not interested. It's been 32 months now. Getting kicked out of the Dr office was the best thing that could have happened to me. Not so much for the hubby, he still has major issues from taking hydrocodone, Percocet, hydromorphone, and morphine for many years. To anyone on these drugs, PLEASE stop before it's too late.

Watching this honestly just broke my heart. I’m almost six years clean. I have a six year old little boy. I got clean during my pregnancy and shortly after giving birth to him I had a relapse that lasted about 3 months. Everyone’s rock bottom is different, mine was looking at my baby and imagining him growing up with an addicted mother. That’s when I made the decision to tell my parents about my problem and to tell them I need help. Telling my parents that I was addicted to any opioids that I could get my hands on, short of heroin, was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Since having my son they had been glowing with pride, telling me that I’m such an amazing mother and they’re so proud of me, at the time I felt like I was ripping the rug out from under their feet when I told them. I know now that making the decision to take responsibility for myself and do what I needed to do to get clean was never anything that would make them any less proud of me. Today I am so glad that I got clean when my son was still only months old, and that he will ONLY ever know a clean, sober, healthy mother. Watching this video was so haunting. It made me feel like I was watching what my life could have been had I not made the decision to ask for help nearly six years ago. I hope this woman gets help. Her son needs her, and he needs her sober.

Comments are negative when the person in the video flips out, freaks out, pull the race card or any card available to them, are disrespectful, yelling, kicking, fighting, resisting, etc etc. She knew she was caught. She stayed calm. She was scolded by her mother and the officer and she still remained calm. Her behaviour is admirable compared to most of the bodycam videos out there. That's why the comments are positive. That's also why the officer's acted like they did. Despite not caring that much about absolute strangers, no one wants to see someone waste their lives because of drugs.

I was taken to a trap house by my cousin when I was like 11 and she was 20 something... "I need to return something at target and then drop by my friends to drop off her birthday gift, wanna go with me?". Sure! Sounded fun and I thought I would get to walk around target. Turns out it was all a lie and I was just a "distraction" for the guys at the trap house because she wanted to do a private deal and they wouldn't leave the room unless there was a distraction. Needless to say I was 11, scared, confused because I didn't know where I was, and I had grown men groping me and trying to take off my clothing. Thank God she grabbed me and we left before it got too far but that shit traumatized me. I know we should have compassion for others because we never know their story.... But that will forever stay with me and influence how I feel about drug addicts.

We had a high school friend. Her sister had drug problems, but went to rehab and met / married a pretty wealthy dude who owned one of the biggest nightclubs in the city. Fast forward to after high school graduation and the sister got hooked again. And, so did our friend. They moved to a small apartment and were doing crack. Saw them boiling / prepping it and swore I'd never go down that route. I've dabbled in a lot of drugs, but never crossed a very "extended" line: snorting coke and oral ingesting meth was the furthest I went.

I got taken away from my mom around that same age, I was a little older. You think because kids are young, you aren’t messing them up. Luckily the police took me from my mom, who had full custody, to my dad who was only allowed to see me every other weekend and he gave me a chance in this world after gaining custody of me. But I still remember a lot from those first 7 years, a lot of bad memories that I’m sure my mom figured I’d never remember. I was able to break the cycle, but a lot of kids don’t. Took me getting busted at work and my boss and coworkers having an intervention with me to go into treatment. I remember going with my mom and her husband of 20 years to the worst part of town, in the projects, to pick up drugs. He had very little concern for anything other than drugs. He would leave us sit in the car in the middle of the night and my mom didn't seem to mind enough to stop it. He died a few years back of a drug overdose. We always knew he'd die that way. Hell, he knew it, too. This kind of shit surrounded my childhood, and i was a product of my environment. I became an addict, of course. I was an addict for 15 years. Ive struggled for so long and I've been clean for 14 years and im grateful for it everyday. I'd be dead by now. I know what it feels like sranding in her shoes. The shame, the sadness, the knowing you're about to go thru some shit when you go to jail, bc you'll go into withdrawal, and there is no help there. Hopefully, she does the right thing and gets help for the kids' sake and her own. I never had kids, probably bc of my traumatic childhood. I chose not to have kids and im also grateful for that too. They didnt have to go thru the same shit i experienced as a child. That shit scars you for life in ways you'd never imagine. You carry it with you, and it seeps into decisions you make or unhealthy habits you may form, and you don't even realize it. It's truly a lifelong struggle but so worth taking this journey clean.

All officers on the scene were professional, patient and respectful throughout the entire process. The way they protected the childs image of his mother and her dignity was very heart warming to see. It does when you affect your family and loved ones. Nothing more narcissist than an addict. I have zero empathy. My sister is in the midst of ruining our family for her addiction. She does not care who she is hurting , I see my mother in complete shambles with guilt and pain, blaming herself for my grown ass sisters CHOICE. At some point , shit has to stop. Zero empathy . The fact that this woman didn’t care if she brought her young kid THE DAY BEFORE HIS BIRTHDAY to the shit side of town to a trap house is disgusting . I fucking can’t stand an addict. IT is hard, but not impossible and the love you have for your child or mother should supersede the need to use. It’s selfish

For all intents and purposes, it very well could have been you who made that CHOICE if life was different, if your circumstances were different, if you had been dealt a different card.
