Sara Kruzan was just a child when first trafficked into sexual slavery. At 17, she was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing George Howard, her abuser. Sara spent nearly two decades behind bars before then California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger commuted Kruzan’s sentence and set her free. Sara and her lawyer, James Dold, discuss their legislation efforts with Sara’s Law-a bill that allows reduced sentencing for juvenile assault survivors who commit crimes against their abusers. Plus, Sara also tells us about her new book, “I Cried to Dream Again,” in the exclusive sit-down with Tamron Hall.
