Loved this conversation of each step, problems that may come up and when Jody has that "a-ha" moment of clarity. I too am a woman about to re-do her own roof on a house and garage. I have 52 feet of brick to flash into so I have really appreciated the amount of detail you include in your videos. I'm going a step further though and have to cut new rafters for the veranda roof that rotted. I am a carpenter from about 20 years ago so we'll see if the skill comes back. Wish me luck!

Wow you went out of your way to help this lady learn to do her own roof. Would love to see more stuff like this. Thank you for sharing.

Go Jody! Nice of you to give some advice instead of steering her and other people away from learning to do their own work.

If you have never been to Maine, This is what we are. Hard working, unafraid individual. Good reputation as a state for having a very determined group of citizens.

you might want to wear a safety harness. One fall from a roof is very possibly all you get, and it can happen from something as absurd as a hornet buzzing your face and you lose your balance, a defective shingle maybe and you slip. Wear a safety harness. It's not difficult or onerous, and your life is worth it.

Chad is right, roofing is easy....just read the instructions. So many people fail to read the simple instructions
