As a German, I'm incredibly happy for Laura's fantastic race and her first Ironman WC title while at the same I'm heartbroken for Anne Haug because she would have been a fierce contender for that title as well.

Amazing performance! 5.02 hours on that bike course is insane. This was much better than the livestream from ironman

Pleased for Laura, she battled the whole year for this. Also good to see the Brits doing well, not just Kat, but also 5th for Nikki after her injuries, and great to see Fenella lead the swim out even ahead of Lauren. Finally, great to see Ruth's progress on the bike, just sad she can't get rid of her calf issues.

Do they seriously believe preventing you from reporting the race "properly" is helping the sport grow.....

Or that putting a ad in every 5 minutes of the coverage helps grow the sport, Ironman don’t care about growing the sport they just care about making money

I am very happy for Laura and her well earned win! However, I have hoped Laura to race against Anne and Lucy. That would have been more interesting in my point of view. The three podium women of Hawai 23 racing again in Niece 24. With Lucy and Anne dropping out, I felt like the strength of the field wasn't that high, was it? Would love some commentary about that! Is it possible, someone was able to touch Annes bike and manipulated the tires? It must have been a huge cut or sth? And why is no mechanic close by? Further, I am a bit dissapointed, that there is not more interest in the performance of Marjolain Pierré with her 2nd Ironman ever, if I got it right!

The online coverage of the race by "Ironman" is a joke. It is basically commercials with a few breaks of athletes racing. It all just makes me sick and honesty I had a much better coverage by turning off the sound, and only watching now and again. Also, why is it so hard for "Ironman" to give the audience a better coverage of time tracking of at least the first 20-25 athletes? Thumbs down for the direction this sport has headed, it makes it less interesting to watch...

Honestly, with Lucy and Anne out of the race which were contending for 1st and 2nd, I just can’t take this podium the same way. Laura is awesome and she killed it and, who knows, she might have beaten Lucy and Anne. But it is not the same to win a world championship where the best in the world are out of the race. I don’t know how to say it but I left mostly disappointed, all while loving the battle between Laura and Kat.

to get to the startline well is half the race, if you‘d compete in races, you’d truly know that.

First objective is to be fit at the start line. Then you need to manage the dynamics of race day. Neither Lucy or Anne managed to do that. Laura is a deserved winner.

@@script-7318 I compete in races and I know that. That still doesn’t take away what I’m saying. And Anne had the disfortune of being out of the race less than 1K into the bike because her tire got slashed and couldn’t even have the chance to replace the tube.
@dacrumpy

@@Ivan_Nano gutted for Anne too. Disappointing she didn’t have spares to sort herself out. Or that race support not able to help a leading contender. Harsh reality is that’s racing though. Laura was on top form today. Her descending, like Kat, was awesome. For me, she richly deserved to win today and nothing takes away from that win.
@Ivan_Nano

@@dacrumpy that’s inaccurate. Anne didn’t really do anything wrong about managing the dynamics of the race. Her tire got slashed so she couldn’t change it to a spare tube. She had spares, but they wouldn’t fit because her tire completely broke, something that’s beyond unusual. I might have had tires become useless maybe 2-3 times in my life. How could Anne prevent that? I feel so bad for her.
