I once told a female friend that I don’t watch any women’s sports and then she basically proceeded to lecture me on how women athletes should be paid the same as men and that men should support women’s sport, so out of curiosity, I asked her what her favorite WNBA team was and she got quite for a moment and said she liked several teams and couldn’t name a favorite one. So then I asked her to name 3 current WNBA players and she couldn’t. So I went down the list and asked her to name 3 current pro female athletes in professional soccer, tennis, golf, MMA and boxing and of course she couldn’t do it for any of the sports.

I was a pretty good player in high school but hadn't really played since, which was about 8 years prior. I'm 5'6" and my ex was 5'10". I obviously guarded her for fun and I remember trying to be extremely cautious and gentle. I like how a lot of female players try to act like dunking is just one type of shot that you won't do often. No, if one person can dunk, and the person on the other side of the ball can't dunk, then that means one person can elevate over the top of the other person to shoot a jumper, and to block shots. Having the vertical leap to dunk adds a whole new layer to your game. It's like the difference in a football player being able to run a faster 40 than everybody he plays against - it translates into so much more.

I’m glad when guys don’t hold hold back against the woman in these sports because if they do people will start think women can compete on the same level as men in college, professional, and even in highschool. Your local pick up game at the park or the ymca where guy gets cooked by a woman does not mean that woman can compete with guys as a whole. Maybe they can compete men who are not that good but once the skill level starts going up there’s a point when no women can compete with a guy. And that apparently starts at the the best highschooler guys outperforming the best women in that respective sport.

We had to have a basketball practice against the girls team in high school because they were going up against the best team in the state to make it to the state tournaments. Said team also had several girls over 6ft tall. The girls coach told us to make it difficult but not too difficult and not too easy. Me being 6'2" at the time they wanted me to practice with them because I was close in size to a couple of the girls they'd be playing. They kept getting pissed at me when I kept easily stealing the ball when they'd try to pass to the girl I was covering. I just kept telling them that they'd have to move very far, very quickly to get open for someone my height to not be able to steal the ball with ease every single offensive play. It got to the point that I was basically standing still, straight legged, and still slapping it away because they weren't moving. And they were still getting pissed at me. Of course they ended up canceling our practice with them because "we were making it too difficult" and "playing like we would a regular team" without trying at all. Aaaand they ended up getting absolutely slapped in the actual game against the best team in state. Who, tbh, played more like men and very aggressively because they regularly practiced against their boys team because they only had one gymnasium but both teams were state-bound that year. Lol

I want to talk about senchai for just a quick moment. He's one of the best instinctual strikers and defenders I've ever seen. He has easily beaten up guys that I thought could stand a chance. That man is different

I’m a boxer and an unwritten rule in sparring especially if you’re moving with someone more experienced than you is hit as hard as you would want to get hit back. If an experienced fighter agrees to move with a green fighter you don’t take advantage and try to take your sparring partners head off.

I believe in pure equality. All subsidies from the NBA to the WNBA should end and each league should continue - or fail - on their end economic and financial merits. Wonder how the WNBA players would feel about that? These are the people who are always demanding “equity”. Nothing is more equitable and fair than a meritocracy.

If there was revenue sharing for WBNA players, they would be paying the team owners to keep their jobs. The WNBA has lost money every year for it's entire existence.

at one point I hated when women fought on the main card of UFC fights. But now I love it. It gives me time to use the bathroom, refill my drinks, get more food, fold some laundry, play a video games for 15 minutes.

@@edwardfitzgerald3877 If you take out the charity from the NBA, revenue is negative. Each and every player would be getting a negative salary.
