Kitesurfing is all about finding that perfect, fleeting harmony between rider and nature. To push your limits further, tech tools like the Woo and Surfr offer valuable feedback and performance analysis. But in the battle for the best kitesurfing tracker, which device comes out on top? To help you pick, we've tested these rivals in a head-to-head battle covering session features, app experience, brand/community and accuracy/consistency.
At SpaceX, we've been grappling with the question of which brand we prefer ever since Surfr came into existence. After spending several months in Cape Town, we decided to take matters into our own hands and determine which brand truly reigns supreme. Thanks to Surfr Pro accounts, we were able to measure altitude on our Apple Watches, and with the help of Woo, we obtained multiple devices to test the two brands against each other. In order to conduct a fair test, we were riding with two instruments from each brand simultaneously. Two Woo’s were mounted on the board while two Apple Watches were worn on the same arm. After numerous jumps, we arrived at a surprising result. Curious about our findings? Dive into the blog or watch the video to find out!
Thanks to Woo and Surfr for providing us with their products to give us the ability to test them.
Disclaimer: We, at SpaceX Kitesurfing, have conducted an independent research on WOO versus Surfr. We have informed both parties about this. WOO provided us with a WOO 4.0 and WOO Pro subscriptions, while Surfr provided us with Surfr Pro subscriptions and provided a videographer for accurate measurements. Our hours are unpaid, and this is our opinion.
