And there's another thing! What I cannot understand among all these wood gas enthusiasts is why nobody has tried turning the stuff into gasoline! Its actually not that difficult. The Fischer - Tropsch process need a pressure of around 5 atmospheres (car tyre pressure plus a bit), and a temperature of 300 degrees centigrade. As feedstock it needs carbon monoxide which is what woodgas is mostly composed of. Discuss please

So it would only convert carbon monoxide into the gasoline? What would be done with the rest of the gasses? And how much energy is required to make that reaction happen? I am just throwing ideas around.

Good presentation. One question. Why does the ratio between dH and Hh change depending on the engine power? I think that a consequence of this might be a tar rich gas, since most of the tar is burned in that area.

can you make a tutorial explaing how to turn a gassifier's tar into petrol for cars or generators please? a youtuber called MrTeslonian has done it but his videos are a bit confusing and long-winded. thanks 😊

Great in-depth engineering info. Have you computed the gas flow at maximum power Cuft/Min? I would believe the better the pyrolysis the more gas the gasifier would generate clean combustible gas. Breaking all those big tarry molecules down should clean up the gas also. How about some steam to help convert and reduce nitrogen into the gas, thus this makes the gas hotter(more BTU/cuft) when it gets burned or more bang in the engine. More power out and you get better wood fuel economy. Maybe some of those wise engineers can elaborate dimensions for big 1/2 ton pickup for a 350 or maybe a 455 cuin engine. Thanks for the info keep up the work and tell us when you get it up and running and is it really worth the effort and save money and your time? What size chunks work the best? Got a shredder or wood chipper? Any suggestions?. How much wood does it take and how much can you save? Are you working for off grid with battery storage of some type? Estimated energy needs. Co-generation for home heating / cooling? Efficiency LBS of wood per kw-hr?

It seems the Height mentioned at 6:51 if too short would cause bridging. Is this height critical, or should preventing bridging be a higher priority during the build?

But couldn't you (for significantly more money) use catalytic converter to rip the oxygen from the gas and use in the engine? Of course, filter the smoke.
