I just wanted to say thank you for the tour of Woodbridge. I grew up in Woodbridge from 1971 to 2006 when I moved to Locust Grove, Va. I now live in Florida. I lived on Sturbridge Rd in Lake Ridge. Saw Woodbridge grow up and even got my first job at Potomac Mills Mall. Once upon a time, there was nothing there in Woodbridge when my family moved there. Use to love to go to Occoquan for Occoquan Days as I grew up, went fishing there too. Went to school there too.

@@livinginnorthernva You're welcome. I know there use to be a drive in movie theater behind the car dealerships south of Opitz Blvd. And a kids' amusement park on Route 1, Storybook Land. Both are long gone now. I also know of a Civil War skirmish site about half a mile from where I use to live in Lake Ridge along Minnieville Rd. It use to be Davis Ford Rd. You can see trenches in the tree line. There's a baseball field there now. If it's still there. Old Bridge Rd. is right next to the ballfield.

I lived on Orleans St. moved in on Valentines Day 1970. 12 years old. Snowed a foot. Coming from Fla and Tx this was the first time I had seen snow. Attended Fred Lynn and Rippon before old Woodbridge HS. Graduated from “New” Woodbridge High in 1975. When I got my license I knew every road in PW and Fairfax counties. Now can barely find my way back to my mom’s house; yes she still lives there and my sister as well. If you’re going to shop or eat do it midday. Otherwise use Uber eats or something like that. Traffic is horrible. Every bit of land that can be developed in Eastern PW county is being developed. I now reside in the foothills of North Carolina. A little over an hour to Asheville, Greensboro, and less than that to Charlotte. You want to sit in traffic for an hour to go 20 miles to the Pentagon or set your cruise control and not be so stressed? Good luck to you in Woodbridge though. Lived there from middle school through college so it will always be a part of me.
