Slick trick with that mirror. When I was a kid we called it "scrapbuilding" as opposed to "scratchbuilding".

@@iancameron1662 I always use the two part automotive clear coat. It polishes out really nice and looks just like the real thing when you finish. And I'm in Texas BTW.

Interesting that the clear scales down nicely. Also-- I noticed (and how I missed this over time, I do not know) that you are spraying at a fairly severe angle. I always thought it was "straight on"-- so what gives?

Looks good! What element of Pop Culture am I missing? My sister had a Chevelle she called Melba. What am I missing or just coincidence?

Dave Wooderson was a character in the movie Dazed and Confused. The car he drove was this Chevelle which he nick named "Melba Toast".

Boyd I live in San Antonio also. Do you pick this up at English or Gladwin paint supply? Does your hardner turn to gel in a short amount of time or does it keep okay??? The Chevelle look Great!!! Love this project. I'll be watching.

Gladwin on Broadway St. The clear and the hardener last for a long time. No problems.

It seems that you get really close when you spray. I wonder if that's what I might be doing wrong.

Nice work. I'm learning all the time. Will the Aqua Gloss work over the Molotow chrome?

Yes it will.

I've tried Aqua Gloss over Molotow and it turns it more silver looking. Spaz Stix Ultimate Clear Coat works better over Molotow but it makes it look more like polished aluminum.
