There is a little piece of ' woods ' near our house about three minutes walk, which I go to every once in a while. It used to be a lot larger, but a few years ago the Manchester council allowed houses to be built on that land. I find it difficult but inspiring to roam around there in different seasons, and usually I end up with a half decent photograph there. Yes, I would prefer to be able to go peak district every week as I used to do in my younger days in the early 80s, but that is not possible any longer, so I try and find inspiration nearby. This was a great video BTW. Thank you.

Interesting video of a wonderful ancient location which I thoroughly enjoyed and it brought back some good memories. You critiqued one of my images from Wistman's about a year ago and I'm pleased to say you liked it. A beautiful British rainforest which I am sad to say is being devastated by the tons of visitors, many of who scrape patterns in the moss on the stones, destroy the lichen which takes years to develop and grow or climb onto these ancient oaks. Having such a huge following, it would be good to hear you warn of such things in your videos and perhaps implore people to treat these dwindling ancient environments with the respect that they deserve and not treat them like 'playgrounds'.

Its an amazing looking area. Almost fairy tale looking. Problem is,and im no pro at all...Its all the exact same look same color same "thing" subject..It all blends together. Its like trying to photograph a blade of grass in a field and trying to find something that makes it different. You would almost have to camp there for like a week and just walk around it..sit down and look at it..walk around it..look..then suddenly that MOMENT might hit.AND you got that right when you said a camera cant capture what our eyes do. Our eyes are amazing.OF course its our brain that calculates it all..BUT no camera will EVER do what our lil eyes can do..

Excellent video. Your honest assessment of your woodland shortcomings was refreshing and a valuable lesson as well. Even if it is out of your comfort zone, give it a try. I wonder how much more meaningful that one, special, spot on capture in a genre outside your comfort zone will be compared to those excellent captures that you are totally comfortable with in your chosen genre. Failure sweetens success! You and Gary should continue to occasionally vlog together. Your chemistry guarantees a successful video. Enjoyed this immensely.
