Excellent! It's one of those projects where if you make one for your wife, your children and your wife's friends will all want one!!!

Thanks, Daniel! So very true! Each time I make one I have to hide it because friends, and family try to commandeer piece. Cheers!

Hi Wakely! Thanks for the sub and best of luck with the new project. Just remember to let the tool do the work and don't force the cutting disc.

@@TwistedOakHandmade The one I made today was smaller than yours so I switched to a smooth cutting disc with a thinner kerf. Worked good.

Thats awesome! I've used the carbide toothed cutting discs for the same reason but not a smooth disc. So how did it work out on your project?

@@TwistedOakHandmade I used a metal grinding wheel. No problems.

Not a bad idea. But I do have a different blade...beautiful grain in the spalted wood. I have four to make this year, and I do believe I'm going to try this for the first one.👍👍👍

Thanks, Edward! I've also used the 3 tooth carbide cutting discs for this process too. It just gives a thinner cut over the chained disc. I have to agree, this piece of wood had some really great spalting throughout the grain. Probably would have made a great vase too. Best of luck with the new project!

never used the chainsaw disc on an angle grinder. Do you have easy control? Any special safety measures?

Hey Jim, My best advice is slow and steady. Take light cuts with a steady grip and keep the chain sharp. If you try to jump in and hog out too much material quickly then there is a better chance of the disc grabbing.
