WARNING . Burning and removing excess with a wire brush while saw dust and shavings are underneath is dangerous because embers can drop and cause a nasty fire . Either clear the shavings etc away or better still , do the burning and brushing outside .

i agree with this comment, thats why now on my more recent videos i now do a voice over but i do still have music in there too due to not being able to use tool sounds because of the environment i live in, there is way too much background noise. Thanks for watching and the constructive criticism, i appreciate it :)

At higher speeds, that EWT rougher becomes an awesome finishing tool! I have a chunk of white oak and really want to try that burning technique. Will have to do the burning outside- or increase the home owner's insurance 😂

Nice looking vase, might I ask why you used a food safe wax on the outside but yorkshire on the inside?
@jpwoodwork
Sure, since this was and is only going to be a decorative piece and noone will be drinking from it, technically it didnt need any kind of food safe finish however this circumstance i felt i would give my buddy a shoutout by using his foodsafe wax which he gifted me in a video, no other reason that that really. hope that helps

I don't get, or like, the burn, the fire. It would have looked better with just the oils to show off the wood.

Nice vase and excellent instruction. I have done a small birch vase and like using small branches or logs rather than a blank. It seems like birch does not check as much. Is that your experience ?
@jpwoodwork

thank you very much, that seems to be accurate yes, to be honest the length of time from tree to lathe and with the scorching i did to it i would of expected some sort of warping or cracking but nothing happened so it seems to be quite a versatile wood for turning
