ACF Frontendform Pro was really great in the beginning. But from version 2.9.6. so many problems and bugs began to emerge, e.g. first the image upload button disappeared. Then the image upload button came back but the upload itself stopped working. Then the information for the post title got lost. My takeaway after using the plugin for nearly 1 year: the plugin seems to be not well tested and you’d have to fear with every update that your forms break. And those updates happen a lot! Like 5-7 times a week is not an exception. You cannot possibly handle this amount of updates and while it gets worse and worse. It was a good plugin in the beginning, no I cannot recommend it any longer. BTW: Thanks for the video, great as always!

Well, I think I've found my replacement for PAFE. I'd love to see conditional logic and an integration with Google sheets but this will definitely help for one of my forms. I'm still going to use my current workflow for adding posts but love the ability to have users edit them later. I think I'll build a form that allows them to not only edit but add updates to events, such as if they sell out, get cancelled, or just to add details. Your tuts always get my brain a spinning!

Hi Paul, many thanks for the tut. That's a bit of a game changer plugin! I've been using the similarly named "ACF Front Form for Elementor" and while it does a decent job of presenting the form, I've been nagging the devs for an edit capability which has never materialised. Now, I don't need it! I've not tried it yet but I presume you could use the form with regular WP posts and, if so, goes another step to keeping users/authors away from the back-end and I'm thinking tomorrow I'm going to try putting the loop into a "custom admin page".

You can use it to edit the title, content, featured image and excerpt currently, but I'm talking to the developer who's looking at ways to expand both the free version and the Pro version with a lot of great new features including WP core, ACF and WooCommerce. I'm currently in the process of creating a book review website. With the help of your tutorial, I've been able to create - a custom post type - some custom taxonomies - a custom field group, in which some of the fields are linked to the custom taxonomies, and - a loop using a custom skin. The form works brilliantly on the front end and the information submitted is displayed using the loop and a single post template I created. The only issue I currently have is this: I'm not able to hide the EDIT button (with modal switched on) from users not logged in. Indeed, when a logged out user clicks on the EDIT button, an error message appears indicating the user doesn't have permission to view the form; of course, I would much rather the button is hidden from logged out users. Now there has been a number of GUI changes/additions to the ACF Frontend widget since you posted this tutorial (nearly two years ago). I was wondering if you could possibly do a revisit of the WordPress Frontend Form Submit with Elementor & ACF tutorial to include the new bits added to the widget (unfortunately, the ACF Frontend documentation hasn't been updated). That said, I have to tell you, Paul... now I've started using advanced custom fields, there's absolutely no going back! And that's thanks to you, mate!

@@shabtikaplan How are you doing with those integrations? My tips go after creating a listing directory with a theme. 1. Sell the sumbmission associated with a Woocommerce product. Then you can easily sell in subscription mode with Woocommerce Subscription. 2. If I have several products associated with the sale of submission then in a "list of my submissions" I can upgrade or downgrade. 3. A condition that if I sell the submission then the previous step to upload the data is to choose a price (product) and during the submission the fields are shown or hidden according to the price they have chosen.

Thank you. I've got the opposite problem and I've been looking everywhere to solve it. My posts are all created on the backend and I made a file field with ACF Pro so each post has a document uploaded to it. On the single post template I need a button to download that document but require users to submit their email first. So basically a form that will capture email and then trigger an acf download.

Excellent as always Paul. Opens up so many opportunities. I think the simplicity of the ability to update website content will encourage more small businesses to have employees update website content. Just thinking out aloud. Showing specific user posts is a great feature. Looking at it another way, if a business wanted to have the ability for employees to update "all" (or more than their own posts - sure you would definitely turn on approval process in this case) what would be the best way to track (log) which user updated the post in your opinion?

Great video! Followed along and was able to get a quick concept up and running. Must let everyone know that YES you do need Elementor Pro to access the Theme Builder in order to design the listing (archive template) page and also the custom post type (singular template) - otherwise Wordpress will default to the post type and you will not see the ACF content coming through. The alternative to doing this is going into WordPress and creating your own customer php templates, which is fairly straightforward if you know your way around PHP and HTML too. I just have a question about when a frontend form is submitted - is there any way an email notification can be generated and sent to the WordPress site admin to let them know a new custom post has been generated by the form? Otherwise, I would need to go back on a regular basis and check for new postings. Really should be a feature for sending email notifications.

Meaning the Seller may have eg: 5 Vehicles to sell and these can each be linked from the Profile page to the individual feature pages of the Vehicles? Good Morning! First of all, I apologize for my not very good English. I really like the ACF Frontend plugin, it helps me a lot. But I think it could be more versatile, like allowing you to change the location of fields or change their size when creating the record/edit screen. I come to report a small problem I had with it. I created a registration editing screen in the Modal version of Elementor and the date field, configured as "Date Selector" does not work. Remembering that in the Modal version the screen opens as a popup. This editing screen is opened from an Elementor model created as a Single Product that visualizes the product data and allows editing through a Modal button. I had to change the screen to the normal editing pattern, opening in a new page, because if I sent to a page outside the Single Product, the product to be edited would not load. I also created a POPUP to test and the same error occurs. Now I have a question, how to create masks for ACF fields in Frontend like birthday, phone, and documents in general? Thank you for your attention. I am available for further information. Compliments, Abel Pinho

Hi Paul, thanks for all that you do. I noticed whwn said at 3:31 that all Taxonomies/Categories must be made in ACF, but ACF doesnt easily allow joining relationships between the Taxonomies/Categories unless using a special function which I cannot find. Example for car site has many MAKES that has many MODELS or Real Estate site has many STATES that has many CITIES/TOWNS. The only frontend form I know of that does allow that is called the WP USER FRONTEND, & the Pro has sooo much more than its free. Very important to have joining Taxonomies/Categories for Car Dealer or Real Estate sites. I know you already done vid with this b4 but without any joining. wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-frontend/ .
