They are not mistakes, they are opportunities to learn :)… used to say an old boss I had. Thanks for these videos Frank, they make me reflect.

Why does the pain or mistake have to come first 😆 then I make changes in my life. Oh well. At least I’m taking some action. Thanks Frank

@buzztune-ft6lc yes that's true but if we take action and learn from those times our future will definitely be brighter and take it a step further and help others avoid some of our mistakes. Thank you Myki.

Hi Frank, I am looking for a little advice. I hired a roofing company to install a new roof on my home. We paid half the cost up front. Then the roofers got to work on the roof. The issue I have is the gutters were not hung properly, the swamp cooler wasn't bolted down, and there are a couple shingles curled up. I several documented exchanges with the company that the work isn't complete. The company is now telling me if the other half of the payment isn't made they will start changing late fees. They have said that $1000 could be withheld until all the work is complete, but since substantial work has been completed, substantial payment is due. What would you do in this situation? I feel like if I make the payment the company will never show up to finish the work.

@nolanderskidaddy Hi. Sorry to hear about the situation. Where do you live? Here in California I would call the contractors state license board or CSLB. If you have something like that in your area or maybe even someplace like the better business bureau to get some advice. Also here in California there is a lawyer referral service where we can get advice from an attorney for a small donation like 50 dollars. They will connect you with an attorney in the appropriate field and we've gotten about a 30 minute consult. I don't think it matters how much of the work is complete unless it's specified in the contract that you were to make progress payments. I would get more advice before giving them more money. I'm assuming the company is licensed? I hope this helps please let me know if you have more questions. Frank
