Ike, Thank you for getting the 58 running again. I recall that Sunday afternoon, some summers ago, when it died a few miles from home. Been sitting just where it is since. I appreciate your skills and willingness to work on this baby.

I really like that Cadillac, but I'm different than most people because I also like 1958 Chevy's. where as most people like 55, 56, and 57, Chevy's. and I especially like that it's a two door because I can't stand four door cars. that car is an AWESOME original specimen, it had to have been stored inside to be in such incredible condition. adding the fuel hose into the hard line isn't a bad idea. in fact that would be a good place to put a fuel filter. vehicles like that can be a pain in the ass that have been sitting for a long time. because the varnish in the fuel line can take a while to get cleared from the fuel line. but once cleared it should be good to go. that's definitely a nice old Cadidiliac. my father had a 1959 Cadillac, that car was a tank. looking out the back window there were a lot of blind spots because of those giant tail fins.

A very timely video for me. Thank you! I'm chasing down a fuel problem on my 58 60S. I've replaced the pump, parts of the line, and two filters. Someone snuck a second filter in just in front of the rear wheel and it was DIRTY! I still have to blow out the hard line and force air into the tank.

Love those old cars , good video Isaac 👍 hopefully they can find a booster for it , or a rebuild kit for it , used to be able to get kits for just about everything, like wheel cylinders, I'm sure you still can get that stuff , but no one's probably going to have it in stock , or maybe that one guy you went to , that seemed to have just about everything, I remember seeing in an older c&c video I believe , or it might have been on your channel.

I was thinking it'd be the fuel pump having been Ethanol'd to death or something, but nope, tinworm on the tubes apparently, could do with some Cunifer lines fitting in the future for a longer lasting fuel line, but I guess that's at John's parents' discretion... :)

My father had a 1959 Buick Electra 225 that he bought new. Personally, I always preferred the Buick tailfins because they were angled outward instead of vertical. It gave the Buick as much more spaceship look. He traded '59 for a '70 Electra 225. Now (of course) I would love to have had the '59. The '59 had no air conditioning and I remember being on long road trips in the Summer just roasting in the back seat with all the windows down and the hot wind blowing through the car.

Never discount that it might be the gas cap it's self. I worked on a 57 Cad a long time ago,it needed a water pump but nobody sells a rebuilt water pump so we had to get the old pump rebuilt. When I replaced it leaked and had to send it back. This time it was fixed. So what I'm saying is that It still might have a bad fuel pump.
