Wash you bike chain, drueller, pedal with liquid detergent soap dillute with water ( 20%) , dip used toothbrush and brush the chain to thoroughly remove dirt, etc.. then pedal , drueller, sprocket… spray with water to cleanse while mechanically pedal the chain until clean… let it thoroughly dry… then brush with crude oil.. the chain, drueller, sprocket while slowly mechanically rotating your pedal w your hand.. until you hear that “smooth” sound.. a spoonful of crude oil is enough to clean your bike… don’t use grease oil.. I’ve been using this method for more than 25 years by now…

When you got all the good shit to work with of course it's fun to work on bikes! Cleaning a chain without a proper cleaner, much less a sonic cleaner (or however it is called) is a NIGHTMARE if it really resists stayng clean. I once had to run a brand new chain 5 times on boiling water and degreaser because it came so drenched in lube that it would've been a bad idea to keep it that way, it REALLY wouldn't budge. (For thoose who might not know, too much lube may atract more dirt and end up making the grime grind inside the chain, resulting on it getting worn faster. Ideally the links on the chain are lubed and the rest of it is suposed to be dry to the touch, hence why they tell you to clean any and all excess after lubing a clean chain on most tutorials)

@@onelastlap9302 even the high end stuff is very simple when you compare it to say a car, van, lorry the world's most advanced technology goes into motor vehicles. The beauty of a bicycle is that everything is light and easy to access with very limited need for special tools. Let's just compare changing a cam chain and associated guides, tensioners on a car Vs changing a chain on a bike or a set of gears on a bike, Very simple stuff. It's like night and day everything on a bicycle is very simple very easy to access super light weight no special lifting gear needed. A bicycle could be taken to pieces and rebuilt in a matter of hours. Yes sure we can spend hours messing about with parts cleaning them and oiling bits and being a perfectionist but the actual fixing of a bicycle is about as simple as it comes.
