Thank you, that was great. Good clear instructions and I thought your fabrics had good visual interest.

Thank you so much. I have done soy wax several years ago. I have just been asked to run a workshop in June.

I am very grateful for this video; you explained it well. I have a question which is very important for me. I have done many batik projects and never dipped the fabric in water. I mostly remove wax by ironing the fabric with newspapers. A few months back, I started to remove wax with boiling water, but I faced the issue that the wax did not remove properly even after 2 hot baths. what do you suggest? should I use anything else for this? and one important thing I love to do is batik with silk paints.

Depending on the thickness of the wax, and the type of the wax, you might need to use a combination of techniques. Some dry cleaners will remove wax for you, but you'll need to check with them first. You can get naptha paint thinner, but it is a very harsh chemical and shouldn't be used indoors or without lots of personal protection.

Hello, very beautiful. Is water added to the wax, then what is added to the wax? Please answer. I liked your work, very, very beautiful.

The wax is used by itself. There is no water added to it.

Just a question… when i dye i soak the fabric in soda ash water before dyeing… can i do that first then wax and dye?

I don't do that, but if the fabric is dry when you wax, it shouldn't be a problem, but I would experiment first.

Hi! I'm wondering how large your electric skillet is?

It is 12x12 inches I think. Honestly, it was just the one the grocery store was selling around the holidays. I got it for like 15 USD.

Is it ok to use soda ash in the washing machine? I had read not to dry fabric in dryer that was soaked in Soda Ash… ?

Love your video. However please don’t throw your water with wax it down the toilet So so bad for the environment let alone the septic pipe Suggestion make up a bucket outside with a few holes in the bottom and sides Place in the garden.? Let’s the water drain out and the wax buildup in the bucket

I only use soy wax which is technically biodegradable; moreover, I am only disposing of very little wax as most of it cakes around my rinse pan.

wax in your home pipes probably isn't a good idea, don't flush down toilet
