I love that you are posting this BUT it's important for people to understand that by modifying the first rite, for example, you are losing some great benefits. The clockwise spin is one of the most anti-aging parts of this whole practice. It spins the vortex (chakras) in the correct direction and helps re-energize the inner ear which becomes hardened with age. The importance of re-energizing the inner ear for aging helps with balance. Having good balance as you age is extremely important. As you keep practicing the rites ( with the clockwise spin) you will notice that it gets easier and you will have better balance. I can't stress enough how important it is NOT to modify the Tibetan Rites they are not just "exercises" they are effective mostly because they reset the chakras, meaning, when done correctly, they helped unblock stuck energies in the body that can cause stagnancy and possibly dis-ease. 🙏❤

You can't go modifying this ancient technique it is that way and has been for 1000s of years for a reason, The spinning technique is for charging up your Chakras because they slow down after a while, recharging the Chakras helps you to feel better and younger. If you don't do the spinning on the spot you have already failed this technique.

Actually it's closer to 2500. Which actually makes them over 2000 years older than "the yoga" we now in the west. But these yoga groupies with their "thousands of years" mentality won't even admit that something like surya namaskar is a modified dand exercise, designed somewhere around 1930. But hey, yoga's big business.

Thank you for this. Been thinking of starting up again, got lazy. I really love how you preform this. There are several ways but yours seems to be much nicer with fluid movements and doing each pose in such a way where there is less shifting or adjusting. One pose leads into another fluidly. Going to start back with the 5 rites following your method.

The 5 Tibetan Rites are based on esoteric wisdom of how energy can be opened in a very specific manner in the body. While the practice you are showing, with your personal modifications, will be good for someone's health, it is not the real practice, and will not produce the same results, because it is out of order, not done correctly, and you invented movements that do not have the intended purpose as the original movements (such as circling in a clockwise direction). It would be better to teach people the real thing.

Thank you for the modification to help all enjoy...This is a nice bit of exercise but it's not as the heading reads the 5 Tibetan Rites. Once again someone has put their angle on the 5 ... now to show the original 5 would be be wonderful... the feeling of the Traditional 5 practised at your pace is amazing with or without in addition to the style of yoga practice you practise. ... It's the traditon the age old sense of spiritual growth that comes with practising The 5 rites 💕

Thanks for the video! Why did you decide to modify the original workout and change the first two rites significantly? I think it's very effective in terms of awakening to do full rotations in the first rite. I get the symmetry argument, but we could do 5 clockwise and 5 counter-clockwise rotations to achieve this.

#2 is thoroughly incorrect. You're showing the 4th one second, need to drop head all the way back. #3 is way off. On #5 keep up on balls of feet in both positions. This is according to the original peter elder anatomical illustrations which are very precise. See Chris Kilham's The Five Tibetans.

Hi. Very enjoyable to watch you speak and no doubt an easy-to-do morning or any-time exercise in this video, so thank you for making time to create and share it. Although THIS IS NOT THE 5 TIBETAN RITES! And it is misleading to name the title so as it is coming up in the YT search for 5 Tibetian Rites. For anyone landing here, here is a link to one of the originally executed exercises (defined and named so by Peter Kelder who took it from the original source and wrote a book about it in 1939): kzitem.info/news/bejne/y5WYv2qIfqJ6g3o Also, it is not recommended to choose between 3-21 repetitions in THE 5 TIBETAN RITES, instead there is a system defined how to build it up from 3 repetitions up to 21 when you have to repeat each for 7 days and restart from the 3 if failing in the process. Also, this is the first video I have seen of your channel and maybe you address this correctly elsewhere, I don't know. Hope this message finds you well, love, Lxo.

I agree with your statement that the arm swing is not sufficient. I think the spinning is the most unique movement of the five Tibetan rites, and sometimes I do it, solely. No disrespect, but I think it’s quite natural, and expected, that someone would comment on this deviation from the usual spinning.
@robodd4694
Жыл бұрын
I think the spinning is extremely important for energy flow. Especially if your meditating while doing the rites. It represents the universal spin of everything. I'm not saying the guy in video is doing anything wrong though. It's his interpretation. Even his steps/process of poses is "wrong" according to the orig. but I actually like his process better as it's more fluid and less body adjustments. But I will still do the spin....He does mention he's exchanging the spin for the swing though. Truth is that the whole idea of yoga and such is to let go and relax. Just do what your body needs and feels more comfortable.

You are a great instructor but Wow! I will not like or subscribe. This is not the Tibetan Rites. I do them at age 73! You are not moving your head and neck correctly! Yes, they are done slowly in rhythm to your breath, but I loved the way they strengthened my wrists and neck so other practices like Tai Chi and Yoga became fun instead of painful! Also you are skipping the resting poses in between each rite. You are missing the total picture of what the rites are all about and how they improve youthfulness. You are doing a nice exercise class, but please do not call it the Tibetan Rites! Your version is too far off!!!
