how dumb would you have to be to think that these matches aren't fixed? I mean it's wrestling. That's how it works, the promoter decides who wins because he decides who he wants in the spotlight to make the most money and draw the biggest crowds. That aside it takes within 10 seconds to realise that the blokes are working their holds and not actually trying to hurt each other. And then that aside, when they keep running into Big bugger's belly and he just pushes them away and they keep coming back I mean it doesn't get anymore hokey than that. Ya twit.

I distinctly recall an occasion after a rigged Big Daddy victory when a for-real Japanese sumo wrestler got into the ring and said to Big Daddy...try that with me! Needless to say, Big Daddy did not try it on with the Japanese sumo wrestler. Big Daddy was a massive Yorkshire pudding whose brother Brian, controller of British wrestling in the seventies, rigged most if not all of his matches.

@atticlight9048

@@jaymike3302 It is true, I remember watching the incident on television. Big Daddy stormed out of the ring cursing and swearing. On another occasion, in an incident recorded by the News of the World, Tony 'Banger' Walsh rang up Big Daddy and challenged him to a free and fair match. Big Daddy cursed and swore and slammed down the phone. Any matches in which Big Daddy fought Japanese wrestlers were probably as rigged as most of his other bouts.

@@jaymike3302 With respect Mike you have clearly not been attentively reading what I wrote. That Japanese sumo wrestler DID get into the ring. Big Daddy promptly got out. Tony 'Banger' Walsh DID challenge him to an 'unscripted' bout. Big Daddy slammed the phone down. If Big Daddy had gone up against a for-real Japanese sumo wrestler then he would soon have been bounced out the ring. If he had taken part in a non-fixed bout against Banger Walsh then Walsh would have made mincemeat of him.

He was British Champion in his younger days, but the old champ, a legit shooter called Bert Assirati, would show up at venues and challenge him. Crabtree wanted no part of that and retired. He came back years later as Big Daddy after his brother Max was hired as booker by Joint Promotions.
