How many times did crusader proc? I assume its a pretty substantial buff to your auto attacks. Maybe that's not how it works?

Crusader will drive you crazy. Sometimes it'll go over a minute without engaging, while others it will present three times in a row, even procing before the previous one has elapsed. Some on-line references say it averages once every 60 seconds, others say it's every 90 seconds. I do a lot of farming in areas with level 44 NPCs. These take me an average of 16 seconds per character and I seem to see it at least every third character, which puts it closer to once every 45 seconds. It's so erratic it's hard to nail it down. Hmmm... that sounds like an interesting project. Thank you!

I have an answer for you! I timed how long between appearances for 30 real combats with level 43-44 NPCs. The times were the times in combat and did not included time moving from one to the next. The average was 33 seconds. The shortest time between procs was 2 seconds, the longest was 124 seconds.

Not sure if it'd change the results but isn't it a little unfair to destiny since it doesn't have any enchant? Also wouldn't it be better to do the test for a set amount of time rather than a set amount of swings?

Yes, it was a little unfair to Destiny. But, toward the end of the video I mentioned that the only enchant I've seen it offered with was a +7 damage, and even with this it wasn't as good as Brain Hacker. I would have preferred to compare both with Crusader, but I've never seen it offered with that. I would think a timed test would have a similar result.

Wouldn't the slower speed on Destiny mean bigger hits on instant abilities such as Mortal Strike? Over a fight having a higher base damage for instant attacks may be better. Also, is this comparison Brain Hacker with Crusader to Destiny without an enchant?

No enchant on Destiny. I've seen them offered with a +7 damage enchant, but that still wouldn't beat Brain Hacker. If I could find someone to make me a Crusader enchant, it would be interesting to apply it to Destiny and see how it did. I limited the test to auto attack to ensure both weapons were treated equally. If I'd tried to add in higher end attacks like Mortal Strike, applying the same number of attacks to each test would have been difficult. Thanks for commenting!

You have to look at the top-end weapon damage. (168 on Destiny) (143 on Brain Hacker) this is the important number for instant strike attacks such as whirlwind. This is the reason that warriors and combad rogues lean towards slower weapons. This should more than make up for the lower overall weapon dps. Over 60 seconds, for example, a character might use 30 instant-strike attacks that would deal higher damage than the white weapon swings. @@wayneschmidt490

when it comes to 2handed, weapons top and end low end dmg are more of a factor then the dps.

How so?

Both of these weapons are mediocre due to the fast speed. This is because while to an extent weapon damage from abilities is normalized, it's not 100% - having a slow 2h is superior in almost all cases. Not only that, this video fails to compare apples to apples, and is basically worthless. Not sure what you're trying to say here - two random weapons with random enchants perform different? You don't say. Crusader is the best enchant for a reason? You don't say. Not to mention your replies about crusader - this is a solved game - you can literally look all this up - crusader works on a procs per minute function, and will always average around 1/minute

Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry I wasn't clearer in the video, but my goal was to compare the two best weapons most vanilla players are likely to find in the Auction House. Yes, it's an apples to oranges comparison and therefore questionable, but new players, like myself, might find it useful when faced with having to decide which to get if they only have enough gold for one. As for Crusader, I have some information you might find interesting. I found some on-line references that claimed it proced once per minute while others stated it was once every 1.5 minutes. I conducted a test where I timed how long it took between procs while in combat. This did not include the time used moving from one NPC to the next. I did this for 30 procs. The shortest was 2 seconds, the longest was 124.seconds. The average came out to 33 seconds. But, looking at the data the largest number of procs was around 23 seconds.

I've reread your comment, and I'm afraid I still don't understand the advantage of a slower weapon. If two weapons each have the same DPS and one has large damage hits with a long hit times, how is that better than a lower damage-per-hit weapon with shorter hit times? Could you please explain? Thank you.
