So THESE are the bowed crotales! I first heard them on Hans-Günter Brodmann's album 'Musica Sacra.' I had to refer to to Adato/Judy's book 'The Percussionist's Dictionary' to figure out what crotales were, and along comes this video showing how the bowing technique works. I haven't read all of 'The Epic of Gilgamesh' yet, but this work inspires me to finish it when I have the time. This is a very original-sounding piece (hard to pull that off these days, I think?) and it sure has MY attention -- a lowly player of tabla/dumbek/chenda/recorder/frame drum/piano (not all at once). I love this stuff! I'm definitely subscribing to your channel. I wish you the best! EDIT: While I haven't heard any of Mr. Teasley's works on CD, I'd like to put in a plug for Brodmann's 'Musica Sacra.' If you're only partly interested in THIS video and don't think it's the coolest thing on Earth, that album will change your mind.

I shall! I still recommend that Brodmann recording if you don't already have it. ;0) It turned me on to crotales, even though I've never touched one. I love membranophones and idiophones. Your use of the Wavephone looping reminds me of this one recording of bassist Jaco Pastorius's I also LOVE seeing what one person can do at one time, be it a percussionist with multiple instruments (such as Xenakis's 'Psappha') or solo performances on one instrument (such as Bach's chaconne from the 'Partita No. 2 in D Minor for Solo Violin (BWV 1004')).

*Hi Tom!!* I am a *_"resubbed,"_* 🤔 *_SUBSCRIBER_*__!! I had a _*_social media platform(s), _"melodrama,"_* *meltdown* a while back. That is too say that I had to *"whittle down"* the number of social media "platforms" I was engaged in, so as to have a more "cerebral," experience within those sometimes *_"surreal"_* moments while social media surfing!! The Short long of it... one man can only spread his attention span just soooo far!! 😂 Anyway, I have read many of the comments, yet none of them have really focused on the best part of this video!! For W/O them, this entire video goes Kaput. And that is the combination of microphones and mixing!! At first I was like, AKG®️ 414,™️ all the way!! Then I looked closely at them, and I became a bit stumped...🤔... as they could be that aforementioned mic(s) being used.?! HOWEVER....., upon closer inspection, they almost look like older 🧏🏼 Norelco®️ mics, which, mind you, is still an AKG®️ family mic, just with a much larger capsule. Soooo, perhaps an 🤷🏼 AKG®️ D24E™️ ("Norelco"®️) in a much wider, robust body...?!!? I call it, 🙅🏼 "microphone Judo," HI'YA... However, if I am wrong, please let me know!! 🫡🤘🏼
