I cannot emphasize how badass of a dude Achmed is. Such a chad to be helping and escorting you and giving you the tour of the country! It's amazing all the wonderful, friendly, helpful people out there who go completely unheard of and unnoticed, but these are the type of people that keep the world going. He waved at the drone at the end too, such an adorable man. Safe travels!

Noraly in the past has stated she compensates people even when they try to refuse the money. In this case, she really needs a guide providing the logistics. She would not have been able to come this far in the desert without help. There is little infrastructure to support her preferred mode of travel in this part of the world.

@@jepomer Absolutely! I would be forever in debt to whoever helped me get through that desert in one piece. I shudder to think what trouble Noraly could get into in the open desert without a proper guide. She already had a close call before meeting up with Ahmed and was lucky she was close to a settlement; if she would have a bad fall or hit a rock in the middle of nowhere she would be STUCK! Yeah she has the emergency transponder and stuff but then someone would still have to go collect her.

Honda and Toyota make very good vehicles. I haven't owned a honda myself - but a CBF500 was my riding school's bike of choice. I love your choice of music for this video, particularly in the end, which is emotionally evocative. It gave me chills. The combination of vast geographic formations, endless desert, nomadic peoples, and ancient fortified villages really brings home the scope of human ingenuity and tenacity across the ages. We have so much to learn about the past (witness the Antikythera mechanism) as we struggle to safely incorporate new technologies (AI). One wonders how much has been learned and lost over the ages. One lifetime is not enough to absorb all that the world has to offer, but your travels bring viewers so much closer to that goal.
