I am in Kerala, south of India, and we came to the Grand Hotel. This hotel, with its rich history, serves a diverse array of North Indian, Italian, and Chinese dishes. We tried its Indian dishes.
Upon our arrival, they warmly greeted us with a spread of their signature dishes. The first was a refreshing buttermilk, enhanced with flavors of crushed ginger, chili, and black salt. Complementing this was rasam, a fiery red soup known for its rich spices and tantalizing taste.
We then kicked off with two South Indian classics: sambar, a tangy lentil-vegetable soup, and avial, a thick mix of vegetables in a coconut-curd blend. Both are staples with rice and other dishes.
We then tasted two of their fish dishes, both of which were wrapped in leaves and marinated with curry sauce. We tried the first fish with rice; it had a unique taste - slightly sweet, spicy, and very tender.
We also tried their King Fish wrapped in a special fluffy bread. On this bread, I added a sauce from the fish which included onions and a special curry sauce. The taste was superb, and this fish had a sweeter and stronger flavor compared to the previous one.
Next, we savored tiger prawns drenched in a rich sauce that burst with flavor.
Afterwards, we went to Lazza Ice Cream, an ice cream cart which had extraordinary ice cream cones. They had single-scoop flavors like vanilla, mango, and jackfruit, as well as multi-scoop combinations that tasted truly unique.
I truly appreciate you tuning in. If you enjoyed this, hang tight for what's next! Share your feedback in the comments below!
