If you like engines, then you're in for a treat. During a recent trip to Cummins Heritage Center in Columbus, Indiana, Hard Working Trucks recorded a demonstration of their 1919 6hp Hvid (pronounced 'Veed') stationary oil engine, the oldest known example in the world. The 6hp Hvid, named for fuel system inventor Robert Hvid, is the first engine founder Clessie Cummins took to market not long after he opened for business in 1919. The engine shown in the video had spent a long, productive life in California before Cummins Heritage Center acquired it in 2017 and restored it for the company's 100-year anniversary in 2019.
