I’ve already binged watched all of 2004 and 2005 WSOP and I think it’s fair to say that the modern poker scene is devoid of any personas of worthy character. Even the commentators of today are insufferable to listen too. It’s no wonder they get little views compared to these magnificent spectacles which are long gone..Given such, I think a major revamp is overdue. New commentators, new tables, new locations, everything new. I think it would garner the much needed spark of attention and buzz that these old WSOP’s capture.

It's amazing how many became household names only to crash and burn. TJ Cloutier and Gus Hansen went completely broke. I haven't seen Phil Gordon or John Juanda for years. Ferguson and Lederer are not too welcome anywhere; nor is Annie Duke.

There are more players who are well-known in the poker world than there are players who are somewhat famous in the mainstream. I'd guess that Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, and Doyle Brunson could be examples of a few poker players who are known by many who don't play poker.

Depends on what you mean by "legitimate". If you're talking about illegitimate like Ub or Full Tilt, then yes there are legitimate sites. If you mean "legitimate" as in "there isn't a significant amount of players using some sort of RTA and or colluding" then no.
