This man deserves the respect of every Canadian. What he accomplished here was simply amazing. Brian Budd was and is one of the greatest athletes ever and for a Canadian, that is even more incredible. Please give this man the respect he deserves. RIP BRIAN.

I was a NASL devotee (New York Cosmos) and I can honestly say that I have never heard of Brian Budd... I am sure that I never saw a Caribou game televised on our local channels against the Earthquakes, Aztecs nor the Stompers, and definitely don't remember Colorado ever playing in any of the weekend ABC/TVS national broadcasts. I wonder why Budd didn't seek a trade to one of the contenders? He could've springboarded off his success in the Superstars to get a contract with the Cosmos, Sounders, Kicks, Whitecaps or Rowdies etc. Must've had a bad agent.

The evidence is there visually. The unvelievable thing in a finish as close that, the times are usually the same. Not even 100th . Other thing, considering the ridiculous closeness of the time. Would have perhaps better to have given 10 points to each Athlete. Perhaps only separating them 10 to 7 if they were contending for the title? In other events contenders were being separated by massive margins.

Yes in the UK as well as having The Superstars they also had The Superteams where players from different sports competed against each other. For example: Soccer Vs. Rugby League.

I simp for 2-D exclusively For many years runners referred to it as 100 yards. Sometimes it gets used interchangeably with metres in commentary.

Seagren. In the '70's he was on TV ALL the time, commercials and guest appearances and I think as a commentator. Not as famous for being the last American to win an Olympic gold in the Pole Vault. He won gold in Mexico City '68 and silver in Munich '72

@@kidmack3556 I do know who he is. I was probably being sarcastic. Sorry about that. Was just remembering Budd as one of us,a Canadian. I remember how pleased I was when he won that thing. @Mike Poitras Even though I thought Diana Canova was cute, I've never watched an episode of Soap. I wanted to see B.Budd play, so I looked for NASL Colorado Caribou uploads, but the Caribou games are scant on KZitem. The one complete game I found against the Cosmos I found, Budd isn't in the lineup... You are right to be proud of him. I just don't remember him...

@@kidmack3556 Well,I actually didn't watch him play soccer very much(not much of a soccer fan). I guess I just took a passing interest in that ''Superstars" show. SOAP? I saw reruns back in the 90s and you're not missing much. I don't think it has aged very well.

Kind of insulting to American football for the announcer to say Greg Pruitt is the fastest player, doubt he was even top 10. Cliff Branch, Wesley Walker, Stanley Morgan, Mel Gray, James Lofton, Tony Dorsett are players off the top of my head that are all faster. Dorsett and Lofton had much faster Superstars times than Pruitt. Heck I bet Hollywood Henderson could outrun Pruitt.
