During the first world war, tanks had genders. and no i’m not kidding. the brittish ‘mark‘ series of tanks were either male or female. if they had either 6 pounder cannons or bigger, they were male. The first ever completed prototype was even called little Willie, of course. while the female tanks were equipped with either smaller cannons or just heavy machine guns, the concept was that male tanks would move in first with the females close behind. male tanks would destroy heavy targets such as bunkers, then the female tanks would spray the area with machine gun fire. supporting infantry and clearing out trenches. However, by 1918 it was decided that if a female tank faced off with a captured male, it could spell disaster. Since then, all tanks were made into hermaphrodites, meaning both large cannons and machine guns and capable of doing both jobs. Please consider liking the video and i'll see you on the next one.
