Wow, as someone who drives an automatic I can definitely 100% understand what is going on here and can absolutely confirm that you can indeed shift faster than an automatic. 🎉

Yes. Your automatic transmission can not predict whats in front of you. If you know what gear you should be in and where, you can shift in to it much faster than an automatic does because once again the automatic has literally no idea what its doing. Its just reacting where as manual you can be proactive. Automatics also for some reason feel the need to rev your engine super high when you hit the gas and take forever to shift. Youll hit upwards of 5-6k rpm before it shifts in some cases and its just so latent. Where as in manual you just shift as soon as you leave your power band. Fords are the absolute worst with this, its like they are actively trying to blow themselves up constantly on acceleration and when youre on the highway they absolutely insist on downshifting while youre barreling downhill at 80mph.

@@theultraplant my man, I drive an standard Subaru. I was just saying it looked like normal shifting in a standard, that’s all Edit: I 100% agree about standards being better, I liked your through explanation though

45mph in 6th gear?

@Marc-vy1uf yeah he dogged it. When he shifts into 4th he barely gives it any gas and then goes into 5th throwing him under his power band. So then the acceleration is even slower and he still doesnt gas it and throws it into 6th and now basically has no power and is lugging as hes trying to smash the accelerator in 6th at low rpm. You can see it happen on his rpm gauge as soon as he goes into 4th. He doesnt keep power in it. You can tell where the power band is because his speed starts to increase at a noticably faster pace when he gets there, and you can watch the needle hop up and fall back down when he leaves it
