Hi Chris. I’ve been buying worms off you for years locally. I had no idea how big an operation you had going on. And just for anyone watching these are the best worms you can buy. Chris is very reliable and friendly. I buy mine for personal use by the kilo every few month but I know a lot of tackle shops buy from chris and they are the best.

Great job they all look nice and healthy and plump, I think I know where I'm getting my next batch of worms. You covered all the bases and made a nice clear demonstration but if you want rid of the noise from the polystyrene audio suppression settings are your friends and fuzzy mic covers work well as mufflers too.

Such small & so densely populated bins. And so many of them. Very cool. Its curious that with only a single video you have nearly 500 subscribers in less than a year. The powder he called meal is ground up chicken pellets 70% protein which the worms love.

@@Daplin1 hi he feeds his worms on ground chicken pellets which consists of 17% protein, i feed my worms on ground chicken pellets,i also use ground oyster shells for grit,they love this meal,this helps to put on weight and size for selling to people for fishing or composting worms,worms are male female species,google layers chicken pellets thanks for your question

I have a worm farm for my personal use for my garden, and I feed my worms, shredded paper, coffee grounds and the filter, used tea leaves, kitchen scraps of carrot peelings, potato peelings, any veg left overs, and I blend it up in a blender and pour that in on under the coco coir, I use for bedding, there are lots more that can be added also. I do not put in any citrus peeling, onions, they go in the compost pile, save a bucket of water next to where you keep your worms in, and you can add this water to the bedding when it is a little dry.

Looking for ideas why....I used a old fridge outside for my red wigglers this summer...so often I would go open the lids with hundreds of worms up along the edge instead of being in the dirt.....any ideas why ? I did this for fun and not a business.

We use a paper pulp with the peat at a ratio of 3 parts peat to 1 part paper pulp.the worms are fed finely ground 17% protein chicken layers pellets

I have made 4 worm bins and do get the worm tea from each. It appears that my larger worms have disappeared but can see many small baby like worms. Did I do something wrong or is this a natural part of the evolution. Was it something in the products I was composting? Would appreciate your insight from you and your group.

Keeping them well fed, in summer you may need to feed them a couple of times a week and in the colder months just once every 2-3 or 4 weeks, but you have to keep your eye on them. The sure sign of them leaving is not enough food...!

You are welcome, look further down the page I have added some more to other posts. I've had my work factory since about 2008 if not before, and I know the worms just have a cycle, but I have not bought anymore worms to keep them in there, they have laid eggs and there are all sorts of sizes so you know that they are happy. Shredded paper is good too.

I just started my first worm bin today I went to check it tonight seems like every worm is trying to escape .bedding is damp cardboard and newspaper and peat is this normal for new worms to try to leave new bin .any advice would be greatly appreciated .thank you so much

how many worms can be put in each Styrofoam bin? and i took your advise and got some from my local fish market, How did you get the fish smell out lol. that was a rough trip home.

Hey Andrew, to get rid of the fish smell, leave the trays out in the sun a few days or use a strong UV light. Even if it doesn't completely eliminate the smell, you'll want it anyway to kill any Vibrio bacteria impregnating the trays, since that can kill the worms. Also, don't handle them if you have any cuts on your hands--use gloves--since bacteria entering cuts can sometimes be very nasty.
