Nice video! when I was 15 years old I went with a old man that showed me how to do this. He just sawed down a small tree 2 or 3 inches leaving a stump about 18 to 24 inches high. took a dull hand saw and sawed on the top of the stump. we got worms all around the stump out to 20 to 25 feet out from the stump. I am now 49 years old now. I have got many worms from doing this. The key is knowing where to get them. I live in north Alabama we have these worms. We call them fiddle worms.

If they set up several speakers to play the grunting sound into the ground it would make their work a whole lot easier and they could cover more of an area.

I suppose driving a stick in the ground and "gruntin'" it with a file of some sort piques the curiosity of the worms and brings them terrestrial to see what's up?

Where in the world do you get those worm grunting tools? I would love to do that , I am an old man that really needs a new hobby. I could make my own grunting tools if I knew what I needed to make one.

Where can I learn how to this ? Are there any instructional videos ? And where do you obtain the equipment ? Can I build these two pieces my self ? And if I can build them , what are the measurements of the two pieces ? What kind file are you using .

Honestly Tim, I’d just try making a wooden stake out of a piece of tree and rubbing a long hunk of metal across the top of it. While I’m sure best results come from specifics being perfect, I have actually done this by accident. I was planting flower bulbs in some what gravelly soil. The tool used to cut an earth plug ( made of metal ) was scratching against the gravel down in the soil. Huge earth worms started appearing completely on the surface in broad daylight ! I was so amazed; that’s what caused me to find this video.

Must be different than in the Midwest. Here if you stick an electrical rod in the ground before it gets light, that pretty much brings them to the surface.

Ive never been to Tennesee, but anyone can look up the fact that Oak Ridge Tenn. is literally the radioactive dumping ground of the world. Except for some large industrial areas around the NJ turnpike and some other places, New Jersey has some of the riches soil and is called "the garden state" for a reason. Iv edone plenty of digging in NJ and it was good ,clean dirt.

This is very common in Georgia and Florida. The earth "tickles" the worms and they just come and crawl around on the surface. We would drive a foot and half slat of wood into the ground with a brick, and then rub the brick back and forth across the top of the slat. Also spelled as grunting, most people pronounce it as "grubbing" for worms.

If you put a pole in the ground of New Jersey and grunt it, toxic waste and hypodermic needles will come to the surface
@LowTegra

Maybe you should look it up, I already did. New Jersey has the most toxic waste sites, both in number, as well as number per square mile. Also has the highest incident of cancers due to the contamination. Also, I lived in NJ for 14 years, studied and worked there as an environmental scientist. The burial ground of nuclear waste for the world is actually Mayak, Russia. Your lack of knowledge definitely reflects what I expect from Tennessee; "The Heart of Retrogression."
