Sky News contributor Sam Crosby says it was “worrying” to see Opposition Leader Peter Dutton speaking out against the government over issues of national security.
The Opposition leader called on the Prime Minister to pick up the phone to Xi Jinping after a Chinese fighter jet dropped flares in the immediate flight path of an ADF Seahawk on Saturday night.
“It was a particularly worrying thing when I saw the Opposition leader breaking a bi-partisan commitment of some 30 or 40 years of oppositions, to back governments in this instance,"Mr Crosby told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“It was particularly worrying to have him out there freelancing and saying the Prime Minister should do X, Y, Z.
“At times like this you need to speak with one voice, the government of Australia has the only voice in this debate.
“It’s not up to any opposition leader to get in there, and be freelancing with them.”
