I heard a bit of a different story regarding the stabbing at the concert. Meredith was allegedly carrying a gun. Some reports claim there was never a gun. It's also important to note that the stabbing took place when the Stones were playing Sympathy for the Devil. This was the only time unfortunate events took place while this song was played live.

I think the reason we don't really have a defining thing is because we kinda live in the remix age. I dress very 70s most days and that's fine, many of my mates dress 80s or 90s or very goth or very Bohemian or whatever. There's kinda no defining image because the lack of defining image is our defining image. We use mobile phones and vinyl players to listen to our music, we have high tech electric cars modelled after designs from the 70s and from video games, everything is remixed to the Nth degree, and that's our defining thing: anything goes style

Stories of the older days just feel so raw. Like it was like the essence of living, there are no boundaries, you live your own life and do what you wanna do with it however it was so tragic as well knowing maybe because nowadays we have established rules and regulations and more careful of our lives but regardless everyone back then was just living their lives to the fullest I must say.

Think on this. Despite the violence and the possibility of violence, the HA's could not even keep the crowd of the stage! Might easily have been some of the RS's or others killed that day if things had gone down differently. Man, I don't think Solomon could sort all of this out. That crowd was out of control to begin with.

So a while back we had a yearly electronic music festival called winter warmer. Security was handled completely by a biker gang. There were no issues that I know of EVER with them. The thousand ish people that bought out the resort that closed to the public for this event every year were all good natured ravers and electronic music fans there for the 5 stages of music and maybe a few for the drugs. (Which were kept private) I'm going to blame alcohol for all the problems at Altimont. Both with the fans and the bikers. Bottom line alcohol is the devil!!! (Not that I never drink just not too much.)

There are many critical gems in that old book called, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance....Its segment on a BMW rider, who was afraid of all technology, and never ever wrenched on this bike. His behaviour extending to absurd lengths, when drinking with his buddies at his kitchen table, he was killing the vibes, by explosively snapping at his playing kids laughter, that was occasionally emanating from the next room, being subconsciously upset and set over his mental ledge, by in actuality, just having to raise his voice a bit over his dripping kitchen sinks faucet, as to be heard, his venting ego was threatened by his leaky sink, seemingly being so far beyond his mentally abilities to just fix. Don't ever be that type of BMW guy...LoL. The book could be very educational for legions of podcast listeners...8)
