Thank you so much for your video. I was just about to put a coat of water based sealer over acrylic sealer. So glad I came across your information. About 10 years ago I put Rock Solid brick and paver sealer on a chimney to save brick that were nearing the end of there life and it looked really good and repelled the rain awesome so I thought 5 years later it would be time for another coat but that coat tuned whitish after awhile. Can’t remember the exact time or years it did that. Well I watched your video about using Zilene to re emulsify the sealer after wire brushing and getting the flaking off and it did just that!!! No more white sealer look. The stuff does have quite the smell. I did wear a mask but was still bad. I was glad only on a few sides the sealer looked white that I had to use it. I plan on now to do a light coat when we finally get a few days without any rain. Wish me luck it stays clear! I’m using the same product. Thanks again.

So my husband sealed our new pavers with the Gator Seal (solvent based) but there were a few that were still damp. He of course did not want to wait for them to dry and applied the sealer. Now these 5-6 brown pavers have the white underneath. I of course thought maybe just brushing on some more sealer to these would help. Of course it did not. They have 3 thin coats of sealer on at least 4, and 2 coats on the others. I purchased the Gator Clean sealer stripper to use on just these. If I get the sealer off, will it remove the white with it? Or do you just have to wait until the pavers dry completely (of course ) and reseal. And then will they not have the white underneath? Help 🙏

Hi, your video is really very beneficial for a novice like me to make an informed decision. Thank you. Just quick question. I was contemplating to wash my block paved drive. Quick questions (1) i ve been told not to use gloss sealer as, although it looks stunning but after a while patches starts to form. (2) Would it be okay to pressure wash block pavings using patio cleaner attachment? Thnx

Great information and great video! I have a newfound respect for efflo cleaner! One question I had is if there’s a sealer that allows natural stone to maintain that color change between dry and wet conditions after being sealed? I think I already know the answer, but wanted to ask the professionals! Only curious because I have a project where the flagstone looks great both dry and after it’s wet. I would love an option that allows that natural color change to happen after a rain or after getting wet from the pool, but I doubt that’s possible. Thank you, in advance!!

I have a very small six+ sq. ft. DIY paver project 8" by 114" between two concrete slabs. I filled the gap with concrete to within 3" of the final surface, and embedded two 3/4" OD pipe in paver sand along the entire length, leaving me 2 1/4" to fill with pavers. Right from the store, before placing them, I sealed the tops of a half dozen clay pavers with Cabot Crystal Clear Waterproofing and stopped, thinking I should install them all including the polymeric sand, then seal everything at once. After seeing this video I'm wondering what horrible things I've done wrong. I didn't clean any of the brick except brush them off; some are sealed and some are not. It's also hot, mid 90's. We may have thunderstorms, and I need to get this done in four days. Any suggestions?

So if you guys are the REAL sealer pros , here you go...I did a fan'd out wing wall sidewalk in front of my house wich is 16' X 20 ' at the wide fanned out end by my circle driveway. Heres the catch... When we poured it in Nov. of last year I used green dye in the cement pour through and through. THEN, instead of aggregate I tamped in green #2 tumbled glass in the pour. Rinsed the cream off the top and the glass is lookin like a million bucks in the green cement . That was in Nov. All is well but now in June ,I want to seal it and also give it a wet look. I dont want any sealer to cloud or haze the glass. What do I use to seal and enhance it? Im thinkin more solvent base as opposed to water based. Im thinkin you guys would know... I havent put ANYTHING on it yet. So whats gonna not cloud tumbled glass yet give my green cement a wet sealed look ? Were did I give droppin tumbled glass in my green dyed walkway ? David O'dell. Hes a genius ! he did it with 2' X 2' Pavers and I did a walkway entrance and 1 up'd it !

We don’t recommend any of our sealers for poured or stamped concrete. Our sealers are optimized for concrete pavers, which typically have uniform density and absorption rates since they are produced to ASTM standards. In general, the solvent-based sealers will give you better enhancement, gloss, and lifespan.

After 48 hours, there are next to no alternatives for repairing or correcting mistakes made with a water-based acrylic sealer. Xylene may work within a 24-48 hour window. Depending on the severity of the problem, it may require saturation, aggressive scrubbing, and repeated applications to re-emulsify the sealer. All sealers will wear and age with time however and will most likely dissipate after being subjected to the elements and normal wear and tear.

Will the roller pick up the sand between the pavers?
@alliancegatorED
3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question. Polymeric sand should be installed at least 1/8″ (3 mm) below the top of the paver’s surface or 1/8″ (3 mm) below the chamfer. The roller shouldn’t pick up properly installed polymeric sand. The sealer should be applied after the paver installation is complete. Most paver manufacturers recommend concrete pavers be sealed, 60 days after their installation date.

Lacquer thinner. Add about a quart or so and swish it around with your sprayer pressurized with several pumps. Spray the thinner out until the sprayer is empty. Repeat. NOTE: it’s important to remove the pump and let the remaining solvent to completely evaporate! Then, lube the pump rod and rubber parts with a bit of SIL- Glyde from NAPA. Part #765-1351.

What is the maximum humidity/moisture percentage allowable to be in the existing basement floor before sealing??? We get water in the basement of one of our rental properties. We have soaked up all the standing water, and rented a dehumidifier and the current % varies throughout the basement from 50-60%. Is it safe to apply a sealer now? Which sealer will be best for the fully poured concrete basement floor in the later 1940s. Another video he said use the pump sprayer and spray the floor walls with water and then immediately apply the sealer. Assuming he meant from dry so then only the surface is now wet and the rest is dry behind the water he just applied. Im dealing with a wet basement 50-65% plz help 😢
