Read the Space Trilogy for a Religion and Lit class I took in college. Highly recommend it, fantastic series. Also, deals with a lot of difficult questions about the nature of sin and evil. Lewis was writing these books during the leadup to and during World War II(OOSP was published in 1938 so was written when Japan and Germany were running rampant, Perelandra in 1943 so was written in the preceding years when the War had started and Lewis's homeland was bombed during the Blitz, and That Hideous Strength in 1945 at the end of the war.) so those issues were really on his mind at the time and you can tell. Also, the protagonist, Ransom, is based on Lewis's best friend and one of the men who converted him, J.R.R. Tolkien.

It's in my unhumble opinion that there are two main reasons why people keep on asking if the existence of aliens would disprove God. It's a bad mix of misunderstanding the purpose of the Bible, and purposely trying to subvert/discredit the Word of God in the eyes of people 1. People often forget that while the Bible is divinely inspired and its wisdom and events cataloged are true, its main purpose throughout time was, is and will be to catalogue humanity's relationship with God, teach on how to strengthen this relationship and learn to fight against/avoid spiritual evils that seek to destroy this connection we share to our Heavenly Father. 2. Some sinister/ignorantly-angry forces who have a vendetta against God (be they secular or spiritual in nature) are hell bent on trying to use the idea of aliens existing as a means to lead Mankind astray from God. This could be demons who disguise themselves as aliens or simply their earthly pawns dedicating their lives to convincing people through bad sci-fi films that religion is an outdated concept that humanity must shed in order to join its so-called "greater galactic brethren". That be my two cents

This is my favorite theology debate ever. I would say that if they are as intelligent as humans, we can most likely conclude that they are made I'm the image of God. So, either they have not yet fallen into sin(which is unlikely because sin affected the whole creation), or they received some form of revelation. Possibly a priest like Malchizedek, or maybe, if we are going really wild, Enoch was caught up to be with God, but before he got there he stopped at an alien planet and preached the gospel.

I think there's a very high chance of alien life being discovered in the next 15 years; Space is becoming way cheaper and easier to access through the development of reusable launch systems such as SpaceX Starship. Soon, the cost of space travel could be the same as air travel. These systems also have an incredibly high payload capacity, so we'll be able to send larger payloads further into the Solar System. There are several candidates for hosting life in the Solar System, the most likely one imo is Enceladus, a moon of Saturn. It's an ice world that contains a massive subterranean water ocean, but crucially probes flying by Saturn have detected massive geysers emitting plumes of water vapour off the moon into space. Chemical analysis of these geysers has shown that they may harbour conditions incredibly similar to geothermal vents on Earth, a soup of chemicals and nutrients where we believe the first lifeforms emerged. It's not outlandish for life to occur here as well. Other candidates exist as well, like Titan and Europa. With increased access to space there will be a lot of research and missions to these worlds; combined with manned missions to the Moon and Mars we are in for an incredibly exciting exponential growth in space travel, so if there's life in the Solar System off Earth it's highly likely we'll find it in the next 15 years. Additionally, there are other proposals like using gravitational lensing (light being distorted and magnified by the Sun's gravity, essentially using the Sun as a camera lens) to observe in great deal other planetary systems, potentially we'd be able to even see continents on other worlds, though this is a bit away. I get carried away lol, but the future of Humanity in space in bright. It'll be interesting to see how Christianity and other religions react to these developments

In my opinion, the discovery of alien life would pose a serious, if not fatal, challenge to the biblical accounts. If aliens are discovered it suggests that life can form anywhere in the right conditions and doesn’t necessarily require divine intervention to form. It doesn’t rule out that God created it, but it seriously challenges it. I believe in evolution (as a process) down to the level of a single cell. However, as far as I am concerned (I am a professional scientist with a biochemistry degree) the single cell is irreducibly complex and could not have just formed out of a primordial soup through chance. Additionally, if this alien life is as intelligent or more intelligent than us it challenges the notion that humans are Gods greatest creation. It’s obvious to me that here on Earth we are Gods greatest creation because of our intelligence. If another alien species matches, surpasses, or frankly challenges our intellectual superiority in any meaningful way, then it’s difficult to morally reason that man has the same supremacy over them that we were given to all other animals in Genesis 1:26. Also regarding sin, in the biblical account, sin enters the world through Adam. If intelligent alien life exists and they are sinners, when did their sin originate? If it was before Adam, then we cannot say sin entered the world through Adam. If sin didn’t enter the world through Adam, how can we say that Christ defeated original sin through His death on the cross? I also would have many scientific questions that need to be answered about this new intelligent life. Do they die? Are they able to raise the dead to life? If so, then it seems remove some of the credibility of Christ as messiah and also challenges the need of Christ to save us from death which is the last enemy. All that said, I personally don’t believe there is alien life due to the sheer complexity of the single cell. I think God would likely have mentioned it somewhere in his book if he had created life elsewhere.

This reminds me of the story called High Crusade where bunch of Christian Knights boarded an alien vessel because the aliens looked like demons and then proceeded to wage a Crusade to establish Christendom in space and through combination of dumb luck, daring and bluffing, these men established the Kingdom of God in space.

Evolution is usually pretty lazy. You can't answer every question by putting "millions of years" in front of it the same way Christians like to say "Because God made it that way" that gets endless ridicule. Even if evolution is legit, we didn't evolve. You don't make something in your image by slapping some clay down and waiting for it to change into what you want. Genesis does suggest that the earth made the plants and creatures at the behest of God, though. Humans were the only thing I can think of that God didn't speak into existence in Genesis. We were made by hand. You can't have fine tuning without fine tuning.

I think the reason people say "aliens would disprove God" is because of their pride in the human race. The Bible doesn't claim we're the smartest, strongest, or most capable species God created. It doesn't even necessarily claim we're the only species made in God's image. We don't know a lot about angels, but we know they're probably smarter and definitely stronger than humans, and they also have the capacity to sin. The Bible is just about God's involvement in humanity's history, so that's what it focuses on.

Aliens aren't real! Why would you even entertain this topic? You have gone on record stating you don't believe in the Biblical depiction of the Earth, and because of that I can't really take anything you say seriously. Go back and read Genesis.

Hey Zoomer, I love your videos, but you are wrong about life biologically. No scientific definition of life specifies DNA. In fact, it is theorised that earth's earliest lifeforms were RNA based similar to most viruses. The most commonly used definition of life describes its necessary behaviors/characteristics: movements, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion, and nutrition (Mrs. Gren). Therefore, non DNA based, and even non carbon based creatures can be called alive by such a definition.

If aliens exist, they do so within the same corrupt universe as us, so they would probably have original sin, same as us. I think the more interesting question would be, would God give them their own Jesus? Whatever the case, the best course of action is probably to start handing out bibles and rosaries and start trying to communicate.

5:20 my proposal on this would be that the intellegent aliens in question would be sinners and Christ did die for them, but he died for them on this earth and the sins of all the sapient life in the galaxy were poured onto him, I also believe that God would send prophets to these aliens after the resurrection
