I think CW has its own design here, and I like it better than the Rolex

One of the biggest mistakes any watch collector can make is to buy a watch that isn’t the watch you really want thinking it will “scratch the itch”. It will cost you more in the long run. Just get the one you really want.

The issue is you can't wear a Rolex confortably when traveling to many countries or areas, it's too risky. The CW is a perfect cheap travel companion, stress free

I can attest to that. I forgot my sister's advice never to use an expensive watch when traveling. I got robbed in Madrid. Had I known, I should have worn my Casio Duro. LOL.@@divertiti

"just get the watch you really want"? Just like that? For a lot of (most) normal income people the CW at ~£1000 is attainable, and wearable. £8k on an Explorer 2 isn't a realistic amount to spend on a watch, and an Explorer 2 really is close to entry level in the Rolex world. Virtually everyone would prefer a bigger house, in a nicer area, a better car etc. watches are no different.

CW has one of the best warranty programs in the watch business, 5 years. The watch just stopped after one year of ownership I'd be contacting CW and they would be taking care of the issue no questions asked. Love both watches you made some good observations.

@@thegorn that’s what all insecure men say that think the size of their watch says anything about masculinity. 34-36mm has been the standard size for men for decades, the trend of wearing oversized watches only began in the 2010s and is in its dying phase again which seems to scare people like you. The market shows that men want smaller watches again, they’re just more comfortable on the wrist and the fact that multiple presidents and fat wristed people like Tony Soprano wore 36mm is prove that it says nothing about being a man or a woman. If you truly were a man you wouldn’t care about the size of other people’s watches, like I said, the fact that you do and consider it a “woman’s watch” speaks volumes about your own insecurities, no offense, just an observation. Go hit the gym and get those testosterone levels up if you wanna talk about being a man, maybe you wouldn’t need to compensate with the size of your watch then. ;)

On the 'vintage' Explorer II, the bracelet, the small hour markers and the red GMT hand are not my thing. The design of the current Explorer II is better in my opinion, but I tried it on and it's way too chunky, so I don't have an Explorer II itch and I'll probably go for the CW.

Unlikely. It would be hard to look yourself in the mirror if you bought a Rolex Explorer II - you'd feel like a right sucker, and also a massive douchebag. Not recommended for anyone to do, unless they are massive suckers and douchebags.

The Christopher Ward is very different animal to the Rolex Explorer II. It's like saying every black car draws inspiration from a model T Ford. The CW Sealander 63 GMT has more in common with Grand Seiko than Rolex.

There’s a finite amount of designs and colors and there will be similarities. Its not reasonable to say no one else can have a white dial watch with a bezel because Rolex has one. This is just CWs white dial watch.

They have a 5 year warranty, did you send it back?
@konstantin9615
9 ай бұрын
For the first time, yes. They said that there was a problem with a crystal gasket, thats why water had got inside the watch. Customer support charged money for replacement, because their widely known 5 year warranty covers a movement only. It is said in terms and conditions. I wrote a complaint to their CEO, after that they fixed it for free. In addition, they fixed small movement issue, that I did not consider as an issue at all, although it was from the very beginning. Then was a second leakage during simple swimming (same was the first time), even though I had checked a water resistance at a reputable watch service and it was 150 m. Considering the first experience with customer service, I preferred to fix it for my money locally. Now my opinion is that CW just selling watches and provides only warranty from their movement supplier, the rest isn't bothering them at all. @@hemantishwaran5741

Nah. I have a CW C63 Sealander GMT 39mm. Several years before that, I had my heart set on a Rolex Explorer II white dial current model (42mm). My best friend got one. I was so disappointed when I checked it. Wears like a dog. Flat and floppy. Enormous lug to lug. Looks dumb on his wrist. Looks even worse on mine. I absolutely hate that watch. But I like the white gloss dial with steel bezel and a pop of orange aesthetic, plus I like the GMT functionality. When I got my CW watch - man I was so happy. I would never trade it for a Rolex, or any clone of the Rolex would would be the same issues, but with less quality. I pity the fool who buys Rolex, or Rolex clone.
