What’s up Scott!! Zak here with Steel Curtain Soft Wash and brother you hit the nail on the head. I’m only 5 months in, and now is when I’ve slowed to a job or two a week. BUTTT I just put out 50 yard signs last week, and already closed 2 deals. $1200 concrete clean, $900 roof, and going to quote a brick house with windows gutters all the extras tomorrow. I DONT QUIT BABY!! 2 kids, 3rd on the way. I’m pushing. Trying to kick ass so I can slice thru year 2 like cake

I’m turning 30 on Wednesday. I’ve been in this industry since I was 20. Been doing this shit awhile now. The slow months are really rough if you don’t have money saved… The one thing I’d tell someone that wants to quit is….Understand if it were easy, everyone would still be doing it. People who are cut out to be successful stick with it no matter what. Things in life worth doing just take time.

Thats true i slowed down for a bit also but still working on my website and going to keep investing on advertising. For some reason last year the fall was the most busy for me dont know why and this summer slowed down.

I don’t think I’ve ever discussed your territory with you. If you are rural, it’s completely understandable that you can go days (even weeks) with no work. It just happens.

I wouldn’t quit, I would add complementary services that have ups when others are down… everything we offer has ups and downs (I’m in New England) we offer power washing, window cleaning, gutter cleaning, holiday light installation, and dryer vent cleaning. This is year 10 in business. Solo I cross $20k months regularly, Monday-Friday home by 4pm almost always and only power wash a few chick fil a’s every other Sunday (5am to 10/11am) … cross selling services will keep you cash flow positive often

I know there are slow times in this type of business, but they have been even more exaggerated now and will be even more in the future. Most people have no access to extra money rn, even big hardware stores like homedepot and lowes are seeing month on month decreases in revenue from people not doing renovations and home improvements. Everyone is reeling back their expenses rn and cutting out unnecessary costs. If they aren't they should be because it will catch up to them sadly. Not to say money can't and won't still be able to be made in those type of businesses. Actually might be the opposite. Pressure washing and other similar business have a higher survivability of recession than most businesses do, although the jobs will be no where near as frequent especially in the beginning of one. Saying this not to scare people. Saying this to just say the times will be harder for awhile for alot of people, but the reward at the end for sticking with it will be bigger when we come out on the other end of it. Starting a business is actually one of the better ways to diversify your money and hedge against inflation and recession and even a depression in the long run and will be well worth it.

The absolute same thing is happening now for me. 1 job in last 3 weeks but getting calls and doing estimates. I have been cleaning for 9 years and this seems to happen most years when schools let out for summer and everyone goes on vacation.

I don't usually post on KZitem videos, but I had to on this one. This was a great video. I started my company in 2018 and we doubled our income each you until 2022. In 2022 we were shaken and shattered. It was bad. GMB was suspended, no one was clicking our ads, etc. We've made changes gradually and yesterday I was talking to our SEO guy and we found our why my phone isn't ringing and why I'm not up the ranks within Google's organic listings. We signed up for a service that is essentially guaranteed to give us results and we hooked up with a financial and marketing guru. Yesterday was one heck of a great day. If you look at where you're at now and decide to just weather the storm, you will be better off in ten years than you are now. No doubt. You make connections, learn skills on marketing and skills of the trade. You get better, get know. Outstanding video, man. We're not out of it yet, but we hope to be soon because we are weathering the storm.

Hi Scott. Perhaps during your slow times, you could look into pressure washing something in your community for free. You could also look into more natural materials to clean the surfaces with. ( *experiment* with the different strength levels of dawn and other eco friendly cleaning agents... do the math...) Also, I like the video you did on cleaning that nearby waterway *with only water* . Please experiment with that more also...🙏
