It honestly just proves that she's more affected by the very social system that brings up racists that she's talking about. She's just on the other side. Honestly it seems too much history is taught to black people in a way to just make them feel so much more hate than is needed. This spreads in a society until people seem to assume anyone not a full blown ally - and sometimes even then - is the enemy and the same as the very people of the past.

YES. Most people who are bitter/out for personal gain usually talk in circles. She's not speaking out against racism because she's passionate about it and it moves her and feels like it needs to change, she's talking about it because she thinks it feeds her ego. Hence why she won't admit that she's wrong in how she went about it. You can't be using social platforms as a way to argue everything wrong with people. You can educate people, you can give people facts, but when you're be belittling others, you're essentially already on that person that you're ranting about level.

The problem is the minute you throw the word racist around white people aren't listening anymore and are ready to defend themselves. They equate racism with direct acts of hate and violence against a person of color. It's not a good idea to use that word imo. All white people DO benefit from privilege that comes at the cost of a racist society. Some people would argue this fits under the definition of racism and I believe that's where "all white people are racist" comes from.

Gio Zaffini What white people generally don't understand about people of color educating them about racism is that it costs people of color time and energy. Imagine having PTSD and having to educate others over and over about the exact things that triggered your PTSD while you are being psychologically triggered constantly by society/the conversation and not being compensated for this. There are tons of articles about racism (Everyday Feminism is a great site that has a ton of articles about social issues written by people who live through them/their allies), but if you must consult a person of color for their insight on race/racism, financially compensate them for their emotional labor (Kinfolk Kollective's #MuleNoMoreKollective explains this practice).

I'm from the Czech republic, a small slavic country in central Europe. The population is predominantly white (first time I saw a black person - in real life, not on TV - was at college, and he was a foreign exchange student). SuperN3M3515 more than half of the people ive met are from lgbt community... Many of them trans... About 2 out of ten trans people ive met have some kind of psichiatric or similar problem... About 2 out of 3 heterosexual cis people ive met have some psychiatric problem... As someone who mostly meets people in hospitals or parties, its not really a fair comparision... But it shows how the perception of the group depends on the selected individuals...im part of the non trans but crazy, and im not even mildly nuts, i literally have a legal certificate that says i must travel always with a caretaker, because if meds fail, ill probably cause problems... I have something i dont know the name, but is like bipolar dissorder that gets trigered by specific situations and might get delusions or halucinations if its a really bad case... I only had those episodes 2 or 3 times, meds work wonders and it never happened again... Because of that reason i only met trans people at parties, and met most cis people when i go to psychiatric hospitals... Chances are, most people ther will be cis, and all of them have some reason to be there... Tldr: depends where you find the transexuals...

Racism is racism no matter who says it. People often conflate institutional racism with individual racism. What Munroe Bergdorf said in her post was racist. "...the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people,". Yes historically white cultures have been racist but so have almost every other culture in existance and there are racist institutions today. On the top of my head Liberia's nationality law is racist, The treatment of foriegn workers in Saudi Arabia, especially South Asian workers, has been criticised by the HRW as racist. Racism exists in the world in all forms and colours. To say that "Whites" are more racist than anyone else is idiotic; everyone is capable of racism and no one has a higher inclination due to their skin colour. The Importance here is to realise we're all human beings; just because we look or sound different doesn't mean we shouldn't be treated the same. Martin Luther King really hit the mark with his I have A Dream Speech: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

The most racist people I know are actually Brazilian, relatives of relatives, I was shocked by some of the things I witnessed. I'm Eastern European and Quaker, I have ancestors who were indentured servants who escaped genocide and ancestors who were a part of the Underground Railroad. I don't know if racism is inherited because I didn't inherit it.

I agree with you that in the USA, there is a very serious culture of white-guilters out there, who want to pin everything bad in their lives on white people and the hardships of racism. But, that ignores the very real problem of racism in OTHER countries and ethnicities. It falsely implies that ONLY white people can be racist, and ONLY white people should be working to fix the problem. In standing up and declaring herself tired of the racism of ALL White people and expecting ALL of them to change, she not only demonstrates her own bias, but her own unwillingness to CHANGE ANYTHING. She DID nothing, but called on other people to do the work for her. That isn't just racist, it's LAZY racism at it's finest.

Currently in the African continent, despite the fact that they're mostly black, they're still people that are being racist to each other because they're from another tribe. Tldr: We humans really hate ourselves.

I agree with you somewhat but I think you are really generalizing too much from what black people are arguing for. Black people are not saying that all of the burden is on white people to fix racism. Black people are saying that white people need to start playing a bigger role in dismantling racism because they have access to spaces that many black people do not. White people are in the position to have difficult conversations with family members about race that black people can't always have with other white people. Black people are generally just tired of having to remind others that we are not living in a post racial society that can remain oblivious to the ways in which people of color are harmed by systemic racism. Ofc there are plenty of cases where POC are doing better than some white people, but statistically black are doing way worse than they should be in proportion to their numbers in the U.S.

i don't agree but even if I did, I am talking about POC in this country and what they have to go through. Ofc there are people outside the U.S. who have it worse than POC in the U.S., but that doesn't mean that we should stop trying to improve race relations in our country and have a serious look at our history of divisive racial politics. Everyone is in such a hurry to say that racism isn't a problem in this country but people keep forgetting that for the vast majority of American history POC were either enslaved or subject to jim crow laws. You don't just get over that because everyone wants to.

She said right in her rant "racism is not learned it is inherited". She made the same kind of sweeping generalizations that get made by racists. When you capitalize the word ALL you are including everyone. It would take take the change of the race she was talking about to make people see it for what it was. If she had said ALL Mexicans or Muslims are terrible people then would have agreed that it was a racist rant. I am not a fan of racism I do try to keep people that have those feelings out of my life, but we need to understand that white people are not the only people that are and can be racists.

The Bergdorf story kinda hit my heart a little. When someone talks about white people I feel included although my physical appearance is Hispanic. I'm half Caucasian and half Mexican. I grew up with a single white mother who didn't have time to fight against racism and try to make up for the mistakes of other people who happen to be white. She was too busy building a business and a career in order to protect and care for me. I can't stand for someone calling out people like her, by generalizing all white people, and saying she isn't doing enough. And there's people who don't have time to fight against racism cause maybe they're too busy fighting for their family and fighting for other social issues, like class status or gender equality. Everyone can't do everything. I just don't agree with her approach and wording if her argument.

I'm not here to bash. I'm here to share my thoughts and my view. I live and grew up in an area where white is the minority. I and my mother stand against white racists by not being white racists. We shouldn't have to make our life goal about proving and "combatting" things like racism. My mom did her due diligence by raising a daughter who disagrees with judging people based on skin color on top of so many more values she instilled in me. Also I have experienced more racism within races, like Mexicans against other Mexicans. You cannot call an entire race racists because they aren't on the front lines of the fight against racism.

One of my favorite celebrities who just so happens to be African American was recorded saying this on 60 minutes and i think its the wisest and most well put argument against racism I've come across. Here I've dictated the interview here for you (Wallace): Black history month you find... (Freeman): ridiculous (Wallace): Why (Freeman): you're going to relegate my history to a month? (Wallace): awe common (Freeman): What do you do with yours? Which month is white history month? Common, tell me? (Wallace): I’m Jewish (Freeman): OK, Which month is Jewish history month? (Wallace): there isn't one (Freeman): Ohhh, Ohh, why not? Do you want one? (Wallace): No, no (Freeman): alright, alright, i don't either. I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history. (Wallace): how are we going to get rid of racism? (Freeman): stop talking about it. I'm going to stop calling you a white man, and I'm going to ask you to stop calling me, a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace your know me as Morgan Freeman. (Reference: kzitem.info/news/bejne/22iamIewi4ynpoY) Yes racism exists, we might never see the end of it. Regardless we are all human beings, we will treat our fellow men as such and may freedom of speech show us how ludicrous those who think otherwise truly are.

Jorge Figueroa yes, racists have always existed, but the recent SJW march started in the past 10-15 years, and quiet frankly it started for no reason other than fear. It's the fear of blacks being enslaved rather than congress passing new segregation laws. It's the fear of gender inequality rather than workplaces banning women and forcing them to stay in the kitchen. The SJWs live like there's still monsters under the bed and are continuing to believe that they will always be there, and rather than checking to see that they don't exist they keep stuffing docks under to try and rid them out. There are a few bad apples, but that doesn't make apple trees bad. I'm just a guy trying to make a living. My best friend since first grade is Korean, and I treat him no differently than anyone else, but to say that I'm racist for just coexisting with him is the real racism, which is what the left wants to try and push since it furthers their cause of believing that racists exist in large quantities. The last note I want to leave off on is that the left wants to eradicate racists because of their beliefs, but if that happens then what's preventing others from eradicating the left based on views? It's a very slippery slope and a complex problem that can't be solved especially in the way MF said, but the left should stop think that there are monsters under the bed, until they actually encounter one in which then they can used civilized options to deal with it.
@LokasennaCole

Jorge Figueroa - here's the thing. The real white supremacists and neo Nazis, there's an incredibly INCREDIBLY small number of them The whole point of the march is that they are trying to get attention. Making a big deal if it is exactly what they want. How do you handle it? Quietly. Let them expose themselves for their views. let their neighbors stop shopping at their stores. Let their managers stop giving them jobs. Let them be as racist as they want and expose them for the disgusting things they are but don't give them a platform by making a couple hundred people national news when there are a few million who don't agree with them. The real problem is news organizations that are demonizing everyone. Not everyone on the right is a white supremicist or neo natzi. Only about 2% of them are. The real problem is these people who are holding up antifa as the right thing to do. Once you start to promote a "violence is the answer" solution to anything, you've failed.

Yes, it is. Sure, it can be taught, but distrust or fear of what's different is a primal thing. So actually racism is quite natural, it's ridiculous to expect that it wouldn't naturally manifest in at least _some_ of the population. We inherit many things, some good, some bad, but we're blessed with the ability to choose who we are and what kind of person we'll be. We are not slaves to primitive urges, we are our own masters. @chicopluma kzitem.info/news/bejne/s6WsrGWwrHagmII Yes and no. I saw a video were they sung a song called, we're all a little bit racist. There is truth to what they are saying. Anyone might have some largely unconscious negative feelings towards anyone different from themselves. But then sensible people do their best not to allow that to influence how they treat others. Then you have people who willfully and maliciously do things to harm others. When I say someone is a racist or a bigot, that's who I'm talking about. If I show someone the dictionary definition of the word and they are repeatedly and unapologeticly doing that crap, they are racists. In other cases, it might be a more nuanced issue and kind of a judgement call as to whether they should be doing what they are doing or if someone is justified being offended by it.

What disturbs me is the talk about how racism, an evil state of mind, isn't just an opinion, but apparently a part of the white race. That racism is inherited down with our race. That to me sounds a lot like the way nazis and communists would talk about jews during and before WW2. They would talk about jews being this priviliged class whose evil and greedy nature was inherited. To me, her statement is only proof that there's a new branch of anti-racist activism. I think it's telling that these kinds of public opinions only appeal to emotion rather than logic. They're very psychologically manipulative because they focus on why the other side is wrong opposed to why they're right. They can point fingers and even at times act out violently but backpeddle and deflect whever they deservedly come under fire. Granted I'm sort of doing the same thing here but this genuinely frustrates me if nothing else than the fact they don't even have to remotely accurately reflect the state of society to garner lots of support, because it's easy good feels to be a victim.

For illegal immigrants their only options to stay here legally is through marriage, or joining the military. Politics have no place in a classroom. There are debate clubs and other such places for those discussions. No matter the party, communists, republicans, democrats, liberals, alt-right. Teachers should not force their political opinions on students, and the same goes for students. Race, political affinity, and religion are private matters and should not distract from the true purpose of school. Nobody cares if you think Trump is the best president ever, just do your homework, attend class respectfully, and be a decent citizen.

I am in the process of becoming a teacher and I have to say that I disagree. Political opinions should not be forced on students but students should be able to discuss and express their own political beliefs. In my own opinion, this teacher missed a great opportunity to do her job and teach the class. If the shirts were a distraction then use that to discuss the student's choices to wear them and ask their classmates what they think about it. A lesson where students had to talk about their own political expression would stick with kids and educate them far better than any lecture would. As a teaching strategy, these sorts of discussions connect students to their teachers and help ensure that students will be more attentive in class for the rest of the year. If the shirts were not causing a distraction then by making them one she just ensured that most of her students will be showing up in political shirts just to challenge her. The teacher under no circumstances should have shared her personal beliefs, but that does not mean she could not host a discussion among her students.
@LivLaugh

Rick Harris Of course there should be education concerning politics, and debate clubs do exists for those willing to express their opinions. But not all classes should be such platforms. Most students already struggle with the curriculum, it won't help if people keep interjecting in geography because they dislike Europe although the subject was the layout of the land. Classrooms are not democracies. You have one teacher in charge and multiple students there to learn, the teacher (in theory) has the power. Debate cannot exist in such circumstances, because who is a teacher to tell you how to think? There MUST be platforms for critical thinking and challenging yours and others' views, but a classroom is not that place.
@ayako510

Unfortunately for you, in the state of Georgia you must have a half credit of a civics class to graduate. Although I agree that teachers shouldn't force opinions on their students, I also believe it is important for students to understand politics. If you truly want to be a decent US citizen, you have to vote, and know what you're voting for. People should know what's going on in their country's government, and the best way to help is teaching students the structure of government and its laws.
@LivLaugh
7 жыл бұрын
Ayako It's not unfortunate at all! Civics classes are extremely important, people must be informed, but not all classes should be such platforms. There is a reason classes are segregated by topic. Your chemistry teacher has no place in telling you how to vote, they aren't trained for that. Civics classes should be mandatory, therefore letting all other classes be neutral for everyone and focus on learning the subject at hand.

I really hate the people who pretend to be "fighting against racism" and yet perpetrate racist ideas . First of all , the way it's being reported . Look at how much emphasis is put on the fact that she's a black transgender . What does her "gender identity" have to do with this issue ? I mean if you're going this far , might as well say "black transgender woman with brown eyes who puts milk before her cereals , puts ketchup in her pasta , watches game of thrones , measures 1 meter 75 , likes her pop tarts cold etc." since we're stacking unrelated characteristics . Or maybe it's because they think that somehow , being transgender and black makes what she says more valuable ? Lack you get more credibility/sympathy depending on your oppress-score ? Please . When judging a person's arguments , it should be REGARDLESS of their sex or ethnicity or religion or sexuality etc. Because that's what discrimination means , and that's EXACTLY what those people ought to be fighting against , yet they're the ones perpetrating that behavior . And then if I had a company and if any of my employees which is supposed to represent the brand said some shit along the lines of "All (insert ethnicity/group) are racist/violent/whatnot" , I'd fire him/her faster than Elon Musk's Hyperloop . I'm pretty sure that if a white person had said "all black people are violent" , people would have RIOTTED for this person to be fired (and rightfully so) , yet when a black person says "ALL white people are racist" and gets fired other it , that's unfair ? SHe did nothing wrong ? Bitch please . So according to her , the white people in Japan , they just HAVE to be violently racist (in her own words) . The white people who live in Guadeloupe (in the carribeans) ? nope , clearly racist . White people living in Afghanistan ? Obviously they benefit from their white privilege by being violent against black people . Smh . Gotta love how she backtracks too "you know when I repeated "all white people are racist , yes ALL white people are racist" well , obviously I didn't mean all white people are racist" . I hate those people who are trying to pit us against each other based on stupid characteristics like that . But she was right about one thing , when she said that we should be fighting against racism , which is why I applaud L'Oréal for immediately separating themselves from such a racist person . So listen up people : don't let anyone tell you that your skin or sexuality or ethnicity defines you . You're not responsible for the actions of other people just based on the fact that you share ONE physical trait . If a black person does something horrible , he/she bares the responsibility ALONE and not all black people across the world . If a white person does something horrible , that's on him/her , not on al white people . If a green-eyed person does something bad , well you get the idea . Blame doesn't spread through race and definitely not through time . To pretend that a black or white person is to blame for the actions of UNRELATED people from CENTURIES ago is utterly retarded , and by pretending that you can somehow group up people in little boxes based on simple characteristics like skin , hair color or sexuality is the kind of thinking that leads to racism . Does the racism which was institutional in the United States for centuries still have noticeable consequences ? Yes , of course . You just have to look at the way the population is spread in America to notice it . But just because you live in a world which has gone through a period of discrimination does NOT mean that you are responsible for it , nor that you are guilty of any wrongdoing/wrongthinking because you exist in that same world .

Interesting story: so every American knows there was a time when the Irish were hated, the Irish need not apply and all that. In my AP US history textbook it mentioned in passing that there were real racial tensions between African Americans and the Irish as they were both bottom of the food chain in 1800s America. The textbook quoted that a slave said his master treats him so bad as if he were an Irishman. If there is a group on earth that definitely did not have white privilege it was the Irish.

Regarding the Munroe Story, I feel like this is a case of someone felt empowered because everyone within her circle agreed with her, Maybe they agreed with her because if you don't you are attacking her identity or maybe they wholeheartedly believe this. Regardless , L'Oreal had to make a choice when it came to those inflammatory comments and pulled the plug. The scary thing is that blanket statements (over something people have no control of) such as these are cause more harm than "good". It reminds me of how Hitler used to paint Jews and Gypsies when it came Germany problems and economic failure prior to World War II. Maybe a bit of a stretch but closer to reality than I'd like.

Philip, thank you for talking about the termination of the DACA program and the affect that it will have on the 800K Dreamer kids and young adults, as well as the affect on their US citizen spouses, children, employees, employers, friends and neighbors. I am an immigration lawyer and I just wanted to point out one additional requirement that I think you left out that Dreamers had to meet in order to receive DACA, they had to have come to the US before their 16th birthday. That is an important fact for your followers to know. Every single one of them was 15 years old or younger when they came to the US. Every single one of them has been living in the US for at least 10 years now, many of them for much longer. Every single one of them has gone through security background checks at least once (some twice or three times). For almost all of them, English is their primary language, with many of them not being able to speak the language of their home country, or not being able to speak it well. These kids grew up saying the Pledge of Allegiance, facing the American flag, in school and singing the Star Spangled Banner at ball games. A few of your readers posted the commonly held myth that Dreamers can just fill out the paperwork, or just get in line, but haven't for some reason or another. That is not true. Many of them are in the "line" through sponsorship by US citizen and green-card-holder spouses, parents, siblings and employers, but our current immigration laws bar most of them from being able to obtain residence, even for those who are in the "line", because they are without immigration status. That is exactly why we need Congress to pass the Dream Act or a similar law that will allow these kids and young adults to continue to be contributing members of the American society, rather than relegating them back into the shadows.

When Caesar was executed by the Senate, yes it was under Roman law a legal tyrannicide, the Senate didn't know what to do next. They were legally within their right to execute him since he was a tyrant but if they declared him a tyrant all of his edicts would be null and void including a lot of "good stuff". Instead of following the law of tyranicide the Senate simply punted and pretended something akin to Caesar wasn't a tyrant he simply slipped and fell on a knife ... 23 times. Without declaring him a tyrant and his illegal acts null and void Octavian and Mark Anthony were able to hold onto and take even more power. Within a few years the Roman Republic was no more and Octavian now Augustus Caeser had seized power. You can argue that the DACA is 'good stuff' until you are blue in the face. Its still an illegal dictatorial edict with no constitutional authority behind it. "Good Stuff" is not an excuse.

The fact is that the DACA Act is unconstitutional because the Executive Branch is not allowed to create immigration policies. Only Congress is allowed to create immigration policies. Trump did what was legally right & put it in the hands of Congress to decide whether or not DACA should continue & how. We can go blue in the face talking about compassion for these kids, but it doesn't change the fact that they need to get their immigration status in order. The law is the law, period. I say this as a grandchild of a legal Mexican immigrant.

Ari Sauer what you have said may well be true, however DACA as it was implemented (I.E. by executive action) was unconstitutional on it's face. 18 attorneys general where setting up a court challenge that would have ended the program. Trump sending it back to the legislature was the best outcome .so If you believe in DACA lobby your representatives and get a bill passed . These folks have the next 6 months to renew there status for new two years term under DACA. That gives you two and a half years to lite a fire under congress's ass to get this done.

There are finger prints and background checks that have to be done, there's a lot of money that has to be spent every 2 years just to renew it. We do not qualify to get any government help so everyone that has DACA works and/or go to school, like me. I pay taxes, my mom pays taxes, we're contributing to society. It's ridiculous, everything we do benefits this county, but it's still not good enough. Now Home Land Security has all our information, we can get deported and go back to a county we don't even know. This is our home, and we're being kicked out.

Wait for the resolution to come out of congress, where more than likely there will be a path to citizenship, but its obvious the US cant keep accepting people into it just because some want to be there, it isnt fair to citizens who legally immigrated or were born here.

Webster Nobert To consider that a whole race is inherently racist simply due to skin, you've already framed the scenario in a inferior/superior situation. This is because of what the word racist means, it's a negative trait, something seem to be immoral, if you're classing one group as immoral you are automatically framing them to be of an inferior status in a society that welcomes moral choices and shuns immoral choices. Why don't you try and use you head to think about what is actually happening rather than thinking "oh but she didn't _literally_ say that." Fucking racist apologist.

Bogdan Bogz yeah, she's suggesting that racist isn't something about the way you think, it's purely the circumstances in which you are born. If you live in a racist society (and I don't agree it's as racist as she thinks, but there certainly are some areas), then you are racist. Racism is prejudice or discrimination against others based on their race. If you are not prejudiced, or if you do not discriminate against others based on their race, then you are not racist. It's that simple. There's also a newly emerging definition coming out of American universities/colleges that's, I think, politically motivated. It removes the protection of the word from white people, making it socially acceptable to treat them like shit and discriminate against them.

You don't have to be burning cars or throwing trash cans through windows to show that you aren't racist, you show it by simply not being racist. You cant say someone is racist because of their thoughts because you don't actually know what that person is thinking. Policing somebody's thoughts is completely unconstitutional and he deserved to lose his job. He was hired to make their brand more diverse, not for his political views!

Jacob C. Mayer sorry, didn't finish my last comment. I was saying that she's male ->female trans. Misgendering her is an inherent form of disrespect if your doing it even knowing that "he" wants to be known as a "she". In other words, he has no respect for her because she is a terrible person in his eyes.

"Let's go kill Hitler," said Mels, the woman who regenerated into River Song. Little did she know that after a civil cup of tea -- who knew Hitler was so particular about his cream and sugar? - And a discussion on the ethics of eugenics, she would find herself working for him instead.... Part 2: Hitler Meets Davros "You had some good ideas," Davros nodded, his blue singular eyestalk bobbing, "But you failed to go far enough. It's not enough to radicalize part of the army, you have to go further! Everyone must be a killing machine, and even when they fall, let nothing go to waste! Just as the Russians are using their dead as barricades, you should be using that to your advantage and using them for fuel!" "I'm listening," dah furer mused quietly, soaking in tips on universal domination. -------- Okay, but seriously. Wouldn't a neo-nazi have to do some serious mental gymnastics just in order to enjoy Doctor Who at all? Main themes include: "Everyone's important." Diversity is an asset, and acceptance is key. The original producer was a Jewish woman in the 60s who wanted to make an educational show with teachers as heroes (Barbara and Ian), and Terry Nation OUTRIGHT STATED he based the daleks entirely on the nazis, right down to the 2nd Doctor making the "human formula" just so the Dalek emperor could reverse engineer it to quantify what was distinctly *not* dalek and ban it from his super pure race. And then there's the actual "ENGLAND >>>> NAZIS TAKE THAT" freaking everywhere. I mean. I guess most of them see themselves as wounded warriors and take pride in their "victim" status now but..... ???????

I love how everyone is treating Bergdorf with kid's gloves. "Well you see, what you said might offend some people that are not racist" I'd like to see the reactions if the roles were switched and Bergdorf was white talking about black people.

iAxX I personally think the kid glove treatment has to do with her being Trans, rather than black. Other blacks have been dragged for similar statements but everyone is afraid to drag anyone in the lgbt community. Thus, why Jefree Star had all these videos saying messed up things about women and harassing women, yet ppl were very quick to defend him.

I'm honestly glad she's fired. I'm a woman of color (although I dislike labels) making a generalization about a race is racist. Plain and simple. You can be racist against white people and people of color can be racist, and on top of that, not everyone has to care about your problems. Like Phil said, plenty of people are more worried about surviving and having food to eat etc. there's no room to care for something that doesn't effect them. If I'm truly powerful, I don't need people to advocate for me, I can do it myself

phil's use to the term "ally" peeves me. It kinda puts a burden on people to have something to prove. You can't just be not a racist as a matter of principle, you have to be a subservient pet and be smiled upon. It's considered aggressive for a white person (or in a different discussion, a man) to have anything to say that might inform the conversation. And if you thought you were just a human being and thus equal, it's privilege speaking.

"yes, ALL white people" - confirms she is talking about *EVERY* white person. "Once white people begin to admit that their race is the most violent and oppressive force of nature on Earth.. then we can talk." - again confirms she is talking about *EVERY* white person through making yet another broad reference to white people. "What? i wasn't being racist!" - back peddling/damage control/desperate sympathy point grabbing, one of the three. This has been said time and time again, but these people continue to be ignorant of this fact time and time again. But let's give her the benefit of the doubt and suggest she hasn't heard this before. What happened in the past has already been atoned for through the affected generation and *can not be atoned for any further* as such affects have been - albeit almost - utterly removed from generations after the aforementioned affected generation, we can not change what happened in the past and *we are not responsible for what happened in the past because it was out of our control* but by no means should we forget what happened. Statues and the such that still stand - be in public or a museum - that used to idolise slavery and the such only stand now as a testament as to how we *have moved on from such acts - but more importantly will remember what was done so that it will not be done again*. Through trying to make out there is racism, sexism and the like where there is not, actual racism and the like are now being mostly if not utterly ignored - through these actions racism and the like are only getting worse by people claiming that they are outright stopping the said things, as these said people are doing *literally the opposite* and only causing more of a division. You (monro) are not helping as you are apart of these people, you are pushing the narrative of privilege and the such - things which do not exist - and causing focus to move from *real* racism and the such to the made up shit.

I used to be 100% against racism, and stood up for movements like BLM. but soon "white guilt" started, and because I was white, I suddenly became the racist enemy. I have no interest in helping support a women who says that i, a 13 year old white girl, am the problem, no matter my actions to help. My personal traits and actions are being cancelled out because of my race. That's called racism. Edit: I see now that I stated my opening wrong. I still am 100% against racism. I meant to say that I'm not a "social justice warrior" or believe that things like using black emojis or touching someone's hair is racist.

Alejandro Nopasanada the problem in a nutshell. You assumed what he was willing to do or nit do in a youtube comment. I bet you are not willing to "educate" anyone. You just want to rant about words like systemic racism and white privilege. And if I tell you that I am far from privileged and have to fight and work hard to have what I have in life. You will be offended because apparently struggling is basically appropriating black culture.
@KI-zy2os
7 жыл бұрын
Here's some education then: white privilege does not mean freedom from struggle. It simply means that in a given situation and circumstance, you are likely to be better off for being white. There are issues you will never have to face because you are white. No one is blaming you for that. The blame is only about wilful ignorance of the reality that PoC live every day.
@ThePurbleKing

"All white people are racist!" Said the racist. It's extremely simple stuff to comment on issues in America and issues with racism without making racist statements. If I say something that's wrong, at least my logic applies equally to all types of people. So if someone wants to claim I'm racist, I can point out how what I said applies to all races. However, they said "All white people", which makes it impossible for them to then claim that's not racist, because it specifically applies to all white people and no other groups.

When is the last time she did anything to help fight cancer? She must be pro cancer then. What about AIDS? I suppose we better have a timeline to, let's say 1 year. If she has done nothing to help fight AIDS in the past year she's clearly pro AIDS. I'm guessing she's also pro-diabetes and pro-heart attacks. Pro-smoking, pro-drugs, you name it!
